HIPER Release 5th Generation PSU's

"total of 4 integrated USB 2.0 ports, plus one convenient USB-style port for charging most mobile devices even when the computer is powered off. "

Seems a strange design. I`d`ve looked to perhaps have an internally facing part to it to keep as many cables inside as possible.

Most mobos seem to have masses of USB on the rear and 2 or 3 internally.

I`m not quite figuring 4 for the psu. I`m perhaps thinking of the psu possibly acting as a hub ?

Who needs more than 8/9 powered usb ports ?

Seems pointless to me. My PC can charge my phone while off. All I needed to do was flip a jumper on the mobo to send power to the USB ports while off.

As for the other ports....why? Its a PSU..keep it that way.

Weird. I was reading about these a few weeks ago as I like my hiper... I googled for them but found nothing lol.

Anyways, I only have 4 usb's on my mobo and need more! But prob not on the psu, more to go wrong.

Bit off topic, I can get one of these for seriously cheap. Worth doing? Think it will be about £40

If you've got one of those up-side-down BTX style cases then yea maybe. Otherwise your PSU cage is just gonna get in the way.

Just installed a bluetooth dongle (USB) for a guy who heads one of the media departments here - he could use this.

Got about 6 usb devices plugged in the back AND a usb hub on the desk, with 2 ports left on it.

Have to be fair tho, this is an exception to the rule. And in such cases, u wouldn`t buy a psu just for this guy as there are alternatives.
