No not Maltese mate. I learnt how to speak it when I had a girlfriend who's family spoke Maltese in front of me. I couldn't understand a word so I learnt it. One day i said in front of her family 'ma jitkellmux malti inti xadina'. They all stopped and then started speaking english.
