Heylo!

Hey folks, as per the section just a quick hello. During the slow decline of *cough* another forum I thought it was high time to find a new home sooner rather than later and since I've been a fan of the reviews for a while this seemed like the logical choice.

Eventually I'll get around to various areas but for now I'll just lurk and see what's what :coffee:

See you in there,
Throbbs

Welcome to the forums. I was in a similar position to you. A forum I was a member of slowly wound down so I joined OC3D and it's much more lively here. I'm sure you'll find this place is a great home!

Already enjoying it, the focus really is on the modding scene which is what had really died off back there.

Yep, that's me, things are..ummm...transitional there recently so I thught I'd head for somewhere more modding centric.

I think I know you then too :)
You also won TheGreatSatan's giveaway right? How did it end up with import taxes and shipping?

Well I only won because of being in an extremely shit state of affairs (that was the whole reason for the competition in the first place) so naturally the import was just a kick in the teeth (an £81 kick in the teeth). Some awesome people however, namely Teezlebub and Carrie :notworthy: who both started the idea off, decided to do a whipround to sort it and they did.

This is a part of the reason I'm reluctant to move to other forums since they've been so good to me but it's just not what it was. :(

I used to go there too but I stopped after the most recent site redesign on the home page. It didn't flow right to me and I just didn't like the design. I also felt the content was not as good as it used to be and I visited bit-tech for years almost every day.

I went there yesterday after I saw this thread and most of the links on the site were broken as was commenting on the articles. I visited the forum and people there were complaining about the site not loading properly. I've not been there for a while so maybe that was a one off but it felt indicative of the site falling to pieces and not being taken care of properly in my opinion.

I know why you won :)
Still quite a beast if it's the rig in your sig. Similar to what I would buy now!

Thanks for all the welcomes guys, already been sticking my finger in many...err...threads (threads should be called pies, I've just decided)

The rig in the sig is a very recent upgrade after being given some birthday moolah.

On another note I'm claiming karma that you brought that subject up and today in the news this happens. The main reason for me ending up winning in the first place has now had some decent outcome, even if it probably takes another year to actually get it  The original rig is going in a super secret custom build and is then going to another in need of a charitable bump since I'm now able to do so.
