Greetings to all, I'm just beginning to delve into the world of up-to-date computer technology and overclocking... and this seems to be the happening place!
For the last 5 years I've been running a Sony VAIO with a P4 "Piping hot Prescott". It was great back in the day and to this day it runs fairly well... but the techie in me is ready for an upgrade; so I'm putting together my first full-build and so far I've picked out my Processor and RAM.
I've been reading threads all over the place here and have been considerably impressed with the intelligence and experience that abounds! I hope in the months/years to come that I can put that wealth of knowledge to use and eventually become a valued contributing member as well.

On a related subject to start things off:
I'm picking out a motherboard for my Phenom II 1090T and my primary use will be for everything from video renders, to large number crunching, and recreational performance enhancement. What boards in the $100-$150 US range would you all recommend?.. and $150-$200 if you absolutely must haha.
So far my pick has been the ASUS M4A88TD-V.
