Help with fans in case

hi

I have a Bitfenix Survivor case

The case was built with 2 120mm fans in the front, but the air coming from them was blowing straight on to the HDD bays and making a bit of noise.

I ran tests with crysis2, First test i ran with the fans on and it came back as CPU 50c and GPU 70c @ 62FPS constant

I did the tests again with the 2 fans off and the temps were pretty much the same

So was all this air going into the case against the HDD bays not doing much?

What Ive tried now is ive put back a 200mm bitfenix in the front, and ive put 1 of the 120mm's to sit inbetween the hdd and drive bay (its a perfect fit and doesnt move) its blowing cool air all over the GPU, but is this ok to have? its not going to distrupt airflow?

Currently i have a 200mm intake, 200mm exhaust and on the rad i have a push-pull effect (inside fan blowing onto rad and other blowing out of case) + the fan blowing onto gpu

Idle temps are 26c cpu and 42c gpu

Looks good, the BitFenix fans are awful anyway, get a CoolerMaster MegaFlow to replace that 200mm

Also that shouldn't really obstruct airflow, just the HDDs getting in the way

That's the obstruction, putting the 120mm in helps the air along in the right direction. Do you have a bottom intake fan? I filled mine out (my case's design is simlar).

Well you could put in a 120mm in the top front mount, then put the 200mm back at the top, and does the remaining 120mm go on the side panel? Up to you

yea, thats what i thought the 2 120mm in the front were being wasted on the hdd's and they made alot of noise.

i dont have a fan underneath or on the side panel, i have 3 120mm's and 2 200mm's

Before i had 4 120mms and 1 200mm but the 2 120mm's in front made too much noise and i replaced them with the 200mm but took one of them 120's and placed it into the space between the hdd and disc bay i was just wondering if this was ok to do, it seems fine and its quiet.

Is the CoolerMaster MegaFlow quiet? trouble is its easy to replaced the front 200mm but the top 200mm means taking everything out to get to it i think

Also, what temps should i start getting worried at on the cpu and gpu?

this is what it was like before, with 2 120mm's up front on the inside of teh case

I'd be tempted to try the 120mm in the top front fan mount instead of the 200mm at the front, & then leave the 120mm that you put on top of the drive cage. I've used a setup like this before & it increases the cfm with little increase in db's. The hard drives don't really need active cooling in that setup. The 2 120mm fans in series will act more like a wind tunnel and give your gpu more outside air...
