Help - What is the latest on TV Capture Cards ????

If you are looking to buy one WinTV is probably your best bet, I think my laptop's tv tuner is Aver Media and it works great, records in really high quality

Depends on signal, my TV card gets more channels than the downstairs freeview box, but not as much as this crappy 19" monitor. If you live in a good tv signal area (closest to me is blackhill in Glasglow :() you will get a decent signal, if not it might be jumpy.

I use a Leadtech WinTV or something, got 2000 in the name. Does the job alright but the software is not exactly eye catching or user friendly. It can record off the tele is dare I say "Dvd quality" though.

Freeview box £20, freeview card £30 but can be used on a monitor not TV, your call

I ended my search never to find anything decent that will do a great job and install well.

Went for a Canopus AVC thing that firewires into any pc/mac/linux thing to capture off. Range from £100+ to £400+ depending on quality and definition.

I'm currently reviewing one atm, and I have to say the included aerials are not up to much, you will need to have them wired the your house aerial to get any descent reception.

As for what the tuners like.. you will have to wait and see :)

yeh :P

going to put a quad lnb onto the sky minidish and use that :)

going to get some software to allow "sky +" style live pause etc. and get that to output through my 2nd dvi to the hdmi on my 32" tv.

if you already know of software which will allow me to output to 2nd dvi twould be helpful :)
