hey,

i live around central london and need some help overclocking my computer.

I have a mach 2 gt

dfi nf4 dr

venice 3000

crucial ballistix

x800 (water and pelts)

Would pay for your time 25 pounds (hour)

Justin

rofl, you make me laugh justin. You have a pelt cooled x800 and a mach2 cooled venice yet you cant overclock. You are asking for someone to come round and help you overclock for £25 an hour. imo you are just plain stupid and dont deserve what you have got.

Sorry if this strikes anyone as offensive but ive just had enough with this guy.

wow - what a shame I'm not in london for another 7weeks!!! Is this a serious offer????

What is there specifically you want to know?

Generally, lower your cpu multiplier to a silly value as well as the HTT multiplier.

Then increase your HTT speed to 250 (see if it works) on stock voltage. If it works fine then increase in increments of 10 until it stops. Then find the nearest speed at which it is stable (just run a quick prime95 - it will quickly tell you if all is well).

Then for instance if you reach a max HTT speed of 295Mhz, increase the multiplier until it becomes unstable. That might be at 10x lets say. Then, increase vcore in the bios until you can hopefully reach 11x or 10.5x (although 10.5 is not recommended). Maybe also bump the HTT voltage a tad. I've seen on here some people running vcore at 1.6V.

However, whilst you are doing all this force the board to run the memory at 400Mhz. I don't know what ballistix you have, but once all is stable at lets say 11x295, then change the memory frequency via the memory divider ratio options in the bios until the system is no longer stable running at 1T and cas2.5 for crazy speeds (although most here recommend cas 2). If you have DDR600, you might even be able to run at 295Mhz in a 1:1 ratio.

As for the graphics card, just use powerstrip and slide the clock and memory up in small increments until it artifacts under doom3 or 3dmark loops. I don't think x800 memory has much headroom but you might squeeze a bit off the core.

Considering how many hours it takes to come up with the perfect overclock for a system you might want to try yourself.

Where to find all these settings is in your motherboard manual.

TBH, the only difference between overclocking normally or with a mach2 and all that kit you have is you can increase voltages more than normal to get extra stability at higher speeds.

this isnt supposed to be offensive, it is a genuine thing. I got all this gear to occupy time to set it up over the summer. I have just had enough of all the time invovled. Its a simple question, i did not mean to create such a stir. It was a matter of economics, fx55=600 quid (at the time) venice 3000 and mach 2 gt=600 quid. It was also my dads idea to get someone to help me out, because quite frankly i neither thought a mach 2 was that big of a deal, nor the pelts. I also did not know the ordeal involved in overclocking it. "Iv had enough of this guy", it seems like a romulus thread all over again, just please back away you havent given me any help over this time, and if you dont want to help dont abuse me. Im also just charging the rate that people pay me to fix their computers, seemed like a fair amount. i was a newb at the start, still a newb. Which is why im willing to pay for a service...I mean i would be happy as can be if i could do it for free, but i really have to trade off my time. Deserve? what do you mean deserve if i save up money and want to buy a computer, how do i not deserve it? Im sorry i dont like geting schooled from people that are 3 years younger than me, iv had enough of you, ill send some diapers across.

ok i didnt mean to offend anyone, by putting a price on your time. But i want to get this thing running, i didnt just want someone to enter all the values, its really an overclocking private lesson.

Seriously mate, just read the guides online and go play about, it's the best way to learn. We all learn from mistakes as well, even though sometimes it can cost us a bit of money :D

i prefer to just spend the 25 quid an hour and get someone to do it for me, im keeping this computer for 4 years...

yea but what happens if a component blows eh who's responsible? Why would you buy a mach 2 and pelts if you dont know how to overclock, why not experiment on air, it's mind boggling, no offence but paying someone to overclock for you thats just being lazy.

i went kind of out of control...It was weird. Iv got the gear now, and am not lazy just want someone with a better idea to help me out. I have a lot of school work atm, and my parents dont want me fiddling around with my computer. I was planning on learning, but i just dont have the time.

Sorry mate, but I (and a lot of others no doubt) find that excuse pathetically lame, as you have been browsing the forum for at least half an hour now which you could have used researching.

If you don't know how to overclock yourself and are too scared to risk damaging your components then don't bother! It comes across as laziness as pretty much everyone here has learned by trial and error and that's what overclocking is about, learning and having fun doing so! :)

If you post up your rig specs we'll help out as much as we can, I certainly got a great deal of help with my first phase rig from this place and so can you, no need to waste your money! (and man you have WAAAAAY too much disposable income, get a missus! lol )

haha, at 16? yeh ill invest in sum flowers for my gf. Iv been writing an econ paper at the same time...nyone up for proof reading ;) I will post up my specs, ill try get a start when my mounting kit comes...

haha it all boils down to me being three years younger ? Yea ok m8 grow up. And if you wish to overclock read the guides on the internet.

Here are some links to overclocking utilities that will suite your hardware :

thanks, im sorry i got ahead of myself. You did just come out a little strong, and i have the right to purchase the gear i desire, not something i have to deserve lol ew DJ TIESTO AHHH

spot on m8 couldnt have said it better. ;)

Seems a bit weird to me too, you dont have time to do it yourself yet you can invite someone around to do it for you, when you would undoubtedly spend the time with them learning, seems pointless when you can do it yourself, i would do that, maybe get a slightly less overclock, but it is yours and you will learn over time.

Your parents dont want you fiddling with it but are fine with someone else?
