Hey guys the name is Brandon and here is my situation, hopefully you can help:
I have a 3 year old rig that I built, and recently upgraded the RAM, an SSD, and another HDD.
I was planning on building a whole new computer with new MOBO, CPU, Case, and GPU. Someone told me that I didn't really need to because I can overclock my CPU and get much better performance than I've ever gotten out of it. Currently i5 2500k at 3.3ghz, they linked me to the 1155 Overclocking Guide Video, and it made me excited to OC my CPU instead of upgrading all around.
BUT I am in my BIOS right now attempting to begin the OC'ing process, and I cannot find the Loadline Calibration Setting that is stated in the guide, it doesn't seem to be in the UEFI of this old MOBO.
So the question is, should I carry on overclocking CPU without the option to change LLC, how important is it? Or should I look into a new MOBO and possibly a new CPU ? Thanks.
Edit: This is the video I am referring to, my BIOS matches the one showed in the guide, until I go into Advanced Voltage Settings, where there is no LLC setting
I do not have the 3d Power Control setting shown in the video where the LLC option is supposed to be. I want to sell my system and rebuild, I need some advice!
