Thermaltake all copper V1 heatsink pulls 86.6 cfm at 2000rpm with 5 x 120mm coolmaster 69.9 cfm each at 1700 rpm plus the 140mm fan in the corsair TX750 all in a tempest NZXT case so cooling isnt a problem i know its not water, but still pretty good, those numbers of the temps in my screen shot are taken when i was just done playing COD modern warfare 2 for about 2 hours straight.I had this rig for about 6 months now so its burnt in pretty good now,i put some OCZ arctic silver on the cpu ,best thermal paste iv used to date.

there is only a 3-5 degree difference between your idle and load temps? cant say ive ever seen that even under water

i know that freaking weird,i noticed that too, but i checked it in the bois and thats what it says ,within about 2c of those numbers.

you bios temps will be idle temps mate, start your pc up and leave it to load everything and sit for 5 mins that will give you your base temps in windows to go from, then u can go about overclocking it start with rasing the fsb by a bit then testing it with prime 95, occt, orthos, intel burn test (its a short term that test finds out instability very fast) once u find instability and get the BSOD you will have to up the voltage to the cpu a bit then do it all over again (im not sure of the max as i have a Q6600) but i can see them being very similar a quick google should sort you out search for Q6700 Vcore max

and what sort of overclock are you wanting to achieve? a bit so you can get to 3ghz? or u wantin a good bit over that? i couldnt advise you on how overclockable your cpu is compared to the 6600 as thats a bad ass clocker

also you wont break your ram if you aren't overclockin it too high and puttin more than the recommended voltage into it so u dont have to worry about that

Thanks stepster ,yah i see each chip is abit different even though its the same number and model depends on the batch, yah thats what i was worried about was screwing up my ram by giving it too much voltage,i read afew places these q6700 are real troopers for oc'ing, i seen some guys getting 3.6 on just air, i ask them how and its like pulling teeth, no advice,ok ill try those programs like you said and see what i get,i just remembered something, i have this program called 3d mark vantage full version, patriot included it when i bought the ram along with 2 flash drives, never tried it,i forgot i even had it till now,did you ever hear of it/is it worth loading?

yeah that will give you a score you can then post on here, try 3dmark06, 05 (more common benching programs used by ppl) you can get the free ones and it will give you a score online once you have stability tested you oc, if it clocks as good as a q6600 u should have plenty to play about and easily reach 3.2 on stock or just over stock voltages then just experiment just dont put 2 much voltage through anything and keep your ram at the rated voltage, oh and another one check your temps try to not have it higher than 60 degrees during load

also everest is a good program to get your hands on cause it will tell you everything about ur pc
