hey, nice forum, i'm happy to join.

so let's start :

my mb is asus p5q-pro rev.a3,and the last bios from the oficial web site

my memory is : ocz xtc platinum 1150 mhz (5-6-x-x)@2.1v 2x2gb

my cpu is : q9400

now the problem:

i overclocket the cpu to 3.333, the memory are running 1106mhz(cl 5-6-5-15)@2.1v

the voltage on my cpu is 1.340 v, the temp's are below 60'C. The strange thing is that it fail's on me. Is stabil on prime 95, is good in everest stability test, take's the intel burning test at high, whit no problems, BUT after playing a game that uses phisics engine(havoc, ageia physx(nvidia)) it fail's me, it take's me out of the game, when are more particle's or objects in the scene. If i play crysis for 5-6 hours is ok, stabil(it has just ageia for physics). In starcraft 2 i start to play, is good, but when i have a big army(like 40-50 unit's), and i start to battle if i stay to macro my unit's it closes the game, if i view a blank part of the map is ok. In mafia 2 the same if i play and i start to shoot stuff, closes the game, if i turn off the physisc the same thing is happening.

I tried to go down the oc to 3.2, the same, to 2.8 the same,to default is ok. I tried the oc to 3.333 and the memory to 1106(6-6-5-15) the same, i tried to change the way the memory is accest, and the info is divide betwin the 2 modual's, changed the type of dual chamnel, tried to change the acction type on the memory(from low to strong) the same. I tried to go to 1.35v, 1.360v, the same.

My gpu is hd5750, mod on the board on by me, to get better voltage, and stabil oc. I tried to change the gpu, i got a 8800gt the same stuff happoned.

off one more thing in split second work's ok, and it's hase havok engine for physics.

please give me some advice, this is the only cpu that i can not defeat, is war for me, not oc

Does this also happen on the stock settings? What is the PCIE frequency set to in the bios?

When you say "mod on the board by me" i'm guessing you did the pencil vdroop mod correct?

yes stock setting's on the pci 100 mhz, there is no diff in stability in games from 100 to 105(the max i hade it). The first time i thouth that the gpu is bad, so i went whit a 8800gt, and the same thing heaponed

Please don't triple post dude, i'm stumped and i'm guessing people haven't posted because they don't know either.

Have you tried the CPU in a different board?
