Help, Nothing is going right

Hey, right at the moment i am pulling my hair out in frustration about my new rig and there are several major issues that i really need some help on.

Firstly, I have just finished putting windows 7 ultimate 64 bit on my pc. However it has taken me about 4 hours to get to this stage as there has been many many issues (Ill list the ones i can remember) there was one message like "Logon was unable to find..." or something like that, which meant that i could not even get to the disk installation. However I did manage to eventually and then once half installed crashed due to some error and it did this around 2-3 times then it came up with the logon thing again for about an hour and then just due to me restarting the pc over and over until it came to the disk installation screen and this time everthing seemed to work out fine. However trouble seemed to constantly follow me and upon getting into windows I think i got the blue screen of death and it shut down (:-() I then booted it up again and everything is working fine at this time. however due to the sheer amount of errors i've had upon installation, is it likely something else is going to plauge me soon ?

Also i tried to do all the updates windows told me too and only around 20 out of 52 or so actually successfully downloaded, the others failed. What does this suggest?

As you can see I am rather bogged down on error type stuff, but it dosn't stop there

Also i have manage to change the resoultion to an uncompatible one and clicked ok so atm all i can see is a small strip of screen at the very top of my monitor, i have tried changing it on safe mode but to no avail. I have also tried a different monitor but that didint work either. What the hell do i do?

Another problem is my water cooling tubing, on one of the tubes it has thinned a lot and is almost like the entire tubing has kinked but it's still straight (if that makes any sense - if not, it's just thinned) however it is only like that when the pump is on and liquid is being pumped through. When it's off the tubing is round and normal size and seems to be fine but once the pump is on, it just like shrinks. Anyone got any ideas whats going on here?

Also my 2 standard (no OS) hard drives are detected fine by the bios ect but when i'm on the desktop they are simply not there, not too sure whats going on there? I am going to put them in raid, should i do this right away ?

ALL advice is highly accepted and I hope you guys can answer everything I have put here (Sorry it's so much, and yes i have googled a lot of it but most of it is unrelevant stuff and I prefere actually talking to people about problems) Thanks

Im too much of a noob to help on this but I know the guys here will help get you sorted out. I feel for you dude, Ill be watching this thread to see how it all turns out.

one thing I would suggest however, is when you see these errors, to write down exactly word for word what the error message says, this will help the guys figure out whats going on.

And maybe list all your components in case there is some kind of compatibility issue.

I'm afraid I can't be a lot of help tonight as I've got stuff on and tbh I shouldn't really be here but hey.

First off, resolution problem. I'm a little confused as to what you've tried but was it to hit F8 when the PC was starting up and then select start in 800x600? Cus that what I used the other week to sort out a similar problem. I find that when you use safe mode the resolution returns to what it is. From the F8 settings you want to choose the option to start in normal mode but get it to reset to 800x600.

HDD's not there. I've hopefully attached 2 pictures. Help 1 shows you how to get to device manager. Hopefully you should see the drives here.

You should then go to computer management (if your unsure where these are just look at the address at the top of the windows I left open and follow them. Once you've opened up the computer management you should go to storage and look for the drives. I think you should just need to format them so they show up but if there not there I'm not sure what's wrong.

If you want to use raid I THINK (although not sure cus I haven't used raid) you should set these up in your bios first so they look like only one drive in windows and then format them but really not sure on this. certainly go look for them there in computer management. If there they than they just need formatting. If there not I'm afraid I'm not sure whats wrong atm.

Hope this helps and I'm sorry I can't help more at the moment.

Sorry mate. Know nothing about water cooling. To be honest you might want to ask that question on its own in the watercooling section as some people sometimes just stick to there area of expertise.

Hi.

Win 7 will accept only some updates at first, when they're installed and you've re-booted it'll download more. That'll happen more than once. Service pack 2 is the biggest file it downloads. To change resolution go to Control Pannel or use the 'help and support' option in the start menu, type 'resolution in its search bar and navigate from there.

To get the HDD's working you use the Manager section that Karlos put a pic of. You can get there also by right-clicking on 'computer' in the start menu, then click 'manage' and navigate to 'disk management'. There at the lower section right'click on your drive and 'initialise' it and 'create simple volume', give it a drive letter, format etc. I think that's what to do.?. I haven't done a standard RAID setup and I don't know about that.

Are you using a legitimate version of windows or a downloaded version from a torrent site?

Chances are if you were getting installation errors that the disc has been burned to fast,or there are scrathes/dirt on the disk,or even possibly corrupted files on disk.

With the graphics you will only be able to set them at the highest resolutiion your monitor can handle.,ie: if you have a 1024x768 monitor that is what you should set you display res at.

Secondly, make sure that the appropriate options are selected in the bios for your setup, and that you have the latest drivers for them, from the manufacturers website and not from your motherboard disk.

I'd also reccomend you download the latest drivers for your motherboard also, from the manufacturers website.

Don't overlook the drivers,as these tend to be a vast percentage of hardware problems and can be remedied by installing the latest versions.

Regarding the raid i'd really wait until you sort your operating system difficulties out first, and that your pc is running stable before raiding your drives.

With the watercooling,i think you've probably answered your own question there, and kinking is probably what you have. And a post in the water cooling section is probably best for this as karlos suggested.

try going into the safe mode stop all the unnecessary services and startups

reboot windows and check does those errors is still occurs.

Thanks guys very much for all your support, I've got my resolution back

and everything seems to be ok atm just trying to get the latest drivers etc.

Once again thanks for all the support

Good to hear mate. What where the problems in the end? Just wondering if my advice was any good

-Could be a scratched windows disk

-Could be a faulty hard disk spindle

-Could be a mistake in the setup

-Unstable overclock

-Your cooling isn't working properly

-Dust in an interface, blow out your pci lanes, cpu socket and sata connectors etc

Once you have tended to all the above, try a clean install

i would start again with a new clean install too just to be on the safe side as you dont want to spend time installing everything only to need to do it again anyway.

im not well up on wc but it sounds like the pressure is to high for the tube and as the water is forced thru the tube its getting sucked in with the water flow.
