hello guys !

im buying a new computer soon ! in a week or so :) so im confused between those 2 mobo's ! the 680i and 780i

some websites or lets say it "reviews" include alot of gd things all together but still confused :(

680i Link

780i Link

anyways i was hoping to get some help with that ! i need the best for gaming and fast performance :D and of course overclocking :D

so whats the best option for me guys... ?

if you got for a x38 or P35 board, these are ALOT better for stable overclocking. try the abit IP35 pro others will be able to advise you on different ones :)

well my friend ! those 2 are the best options ! due to country moving limits :p

so which one is the best :) and plus im setting a whole new rig , and i added something in the post about the tcp\ip and FirstPacket so if u dont mind checking it out for me

thanks again

ahh the p35 chipsets are good dont worry about firstpacket..

Ermm, have a look at the Abit ip35 pro.. i personally have the gigabyte GA-P35 DS4 good board imo.

I think the asus boards are pretty good, though i couldnt recall the model names :)

i just worried about the firstpacket and the tcp/ip options cuz i play online alot and im hoping to get better results in online gaming pings , i get kicked out alot of times from pings problems :(

so my friend from the outlook and the in depth features which one do u suggest ?

erm, well whats your budget?

What speed internet connection are you running? i get perfect pings with my DS4... though i think all on board network adapters are similar.. only slight gains or losses between each.. you wont see much difference

well for starters telling u where i live will answer most of ur questions :p

i had to move to jordan (middle-east) and internet here sux (download limitation - limited speeds <up to 2mb> ) and the internet prices are way to high man !!

like the mb is for 536 US dollars !! so im running on a 512 connection :(

as for my budget , well my dad is buying :p :D but still i gotta keep it to the somewhere in the average ! comes back to him in the end . lol !

my new computer specs are going to be the following ! :

motherboard : 680i or 780i

graphic card : 8800 gts or smth else (waiting for the next shipment)

rams : 4gb ddr2 (800mhz or might get the 100mhz :D )

case : Gigabyte 3D Aurora

power supply : 700w

cpu : core 2 duo

if i forgot something plz remind me :D

and just an F.Y.I , not everything is available here ! damn i miss best buy :p

so anyways for mobo's those are my only options

so my friend ....

I would get a non Nvidia board

780i - sucks

680i - sucks more

OK so I'm going OTT as some boards are great value, but unless you are 100% going SLI then get an Intel board

hmm , well thats some bad news for me !!!

since 780i sucks but sucks less than the 680i well im gettin the 780i . LOL :p

ill see some other options with this ! hopefuly ill get some gd options !

but still someone plzzz give me which one is best between those 2

Why? Why do you need to know which is best between them? Obviously 780i is a better platform, but if you're not using SLI then I would strongly advise against getting either

If you wish to ignore good sensible advice then that is up to you.

thats not it my friend ! first of all as for SLI , in a year or so i might pop in another graphic card ! but for now im staying on 1 :)

as for not taking ur advice ! dude , i wish i can get better options ! but those are the best , its either i get the worst , or those 2 !! thats why im trying to get a final answer about this  , and i wish i can buy online but thats not possible for me :D ... freakin middle east !! :(

Yeah Fatal I agree totally with both who have said that if you aren't going Sli then getting the P35 or X38 chipset would be the way to go without a doubt.

But if you HAD to get one of the two and there was no other alternative then the 780i but again the two other options are superior.

i just brought my new motherboard and with looking around and getting adive from diffent place,s, i have gone for the intel X38 chip. nforce chips can have problems with some intel processes hope this helps.

Or if you can't decide right now, wait for the new Nvidia chipset (Coming soon!) and x48...

I certainly think it'll be worth the wait....and you might see other prices drop too.

umm , thanks guys !

well ! i said that earlier ! i cant actuely find everything here ! my options are somewhere limited !

the other day i found those 3 mobo's near an electronic store near my neighborhood , here they are ! :

965P-DS3

965P-DS4

GA-M57SLI-S4

anything better or what ??

and thanks again guys :worship:

Personally wouldnt touch any of those with a bargepole. Then again, I am biased. :P

Maximus Formula is a cracking board, but tbh, so is the ip35....though I didnt say that.
