Help!!!! Multimedia Woes......

Just built a multimedia machine using an Elonex case from Ebuyer and the motherboard it came with. I'm running Vista (64bit) with a 3.0Ghz Pentium 4. Its got 2gig of RAM with an XTX 8400GS 256Meg graphics card. You'd think this wouldn't struggle playing DVD's with Windows Media Player on my 37" JVC LCD TV using the DVI output. Not so. The playing is stuttering and speeds up in between stutters to catch up where it should be. Any suggestions 'cause I'm pulling my hair out on this one!

got the right codec?

try installing Klite codec (google it)

get the full package

thats been able to play anything i've ever thrown at it, perfectly, without stuttering on my now-aging 939 rig

If there is one thing that I must absolutely respond to, it's the sound of a recommendation for klite

klite is bad, very bad...tends to cause more problems than it solves.

anytime you have multiple versions of the same codec (in this case, divx and xvid...wouldn't be surprised if there were more) you set yourself up for massive problems

CCCP is much better (link)

no redundant codecs, no malware, it's actually possible (and easy) to unisnstall, and I haven't found anything it can't play yet
