heya fellas. i recently bought a asus maximus gene v motherboard with the ivybridhe 3770k with the intention of using ib for grapohics temporarily until i have the cash for a decent gpu. but the mother is a rog motherboard that dosnt have vga or dvi! only two connections hdmi and some port called displayport (which isnt vga but looks like hdmi sort of..). is there anyway to to display through one of these ports? i also have a old gpu (nvidia 5200 (not gtx!)....yes its ancient i know!). i can display through that but is there anyway to use the discreet gpu for display only and ib for gaming? please help. Thanks.

You need either a HDMI to VGA, HDMI to DVI, Display port to VGA or Display port to DVI adapter.

You can get them on Ebay for a couple of £

While ROG boards are not really designed with on board graphics in mind, (my rampage IV extreme has no on board display output) you do have a HDMI and a Display port adapter. cables are only going to cost you $15 absolute max.

A DVI to HDMI cable will be spot on and they are pretty cheap most places, i use one to my tv and ive had 0 issues on any setup ive used it with.
