Hello fantastic OC3D community my question is can you help me choose the right keyboard, monitor, mouse and ram at the moment I don't play any games at all and I want to build a gaming desktop just in case I might game again can you help me with it thanks. right now I'm looking at the Corsair Vengeance M65 mouse and for the ram I'm looking at the ram from mushkin and corsair between 8-16 GB clocked at 1866 MHZ and for the keyboard i don't know much about them but I heard mechanical keyboards last really long and for the monitor the specs has to be 1920 X 1080 screen size has to be between 23 - 28 inches thanks and have great morning, day and evening. the stuff that I have bought at the moment is:
EVGA X79 Classified Motherboard
Corsair AX760 Power Supply
1 Noctua NH-D14 CPU Cooler
1 Asus Radeon R9 280X
a LG Blu Ray Drive
1 LG Super Multi DVD Drive
7 Corsair AF140 Quiet Edition Fans ( 2 of them are LED fans)
1 Samsung 840 EVO 250 GB SSD

Going to buy
1 Samsung 840 EVO 250 GB SSD
2 WD Black Series 3TB HD
Intel Core I7 4930K CPU
Corsair 760T Case

Thinking about buying
Asus Xonar Essence STX Sound Card or should I buy the STX 2

Go for Corsair Vengeance Pro 2x4GB DDR3-1866. The Corsair M65 is a nice mouse and paired with the K95 keyboard, you have a bunch of Corsair goodness.

Your going to buy list is good, the STX will do as there is minimal difference between it and the two, MaddenShadow's sugestions on the keyboard and mice are good and for a monitor BenQ XL2420Z 24in LED 144Hz Gaming Monitor

I always get flamed for this but unless youre going to be using headphones, you dont need a sound card. The sound card will come in handy because itll have a better, more powerful headphone amp than the stocker on your motherboard. If youre going to be piping it thru a 2.1 powered system then all you need is a passive, neutral source signal which the stock one can handle fine. And if your 2.1 system has a headphone 3.5mm jack on it and youre using a headset that is 3.5mm instead of USB then you dont need one even then because the amp on the 2.1 system will be more powerful and better than the headphone amp on a sound card.

Now Im NOT saying dont buy a sound card. Theyre definitely very cool with lots of great features. Im just saying that a sound card is something you should buy AFTER youve got all your primary components out of the way. If youre not having to skimp on anything then by all means enjoy a cool sound card.

RAM doesnt matter that much. Aside from benchmarks youre not going to see much of a difference. A set from a quality brand like Corsair is going to be fine.

As for keyboards and mice, I really like mechanical keyboards with Cherry MX Blue keys. Theyre noisy and clicky but theyre so much more "fun" to type on. Cherry MX Brown's would be my 2nd favorite because they have the click feel but dont have much of the sound. But Blues are better because they piss my wife off. :D

For mice, some of my favorite are the Razer DeathAdder of course. The 2013 model is superb with one of the best sensors Ive ever used. I actually prefer the smooth finish of the 3.5G but I swap between them often. The SteelSeries Sensei Raw is another excellent mouse. Easily on the top 2 or 3 of my list. If you like a bigger mouse, the Logitech G500s is worth a look or a G700s if you want to go wireless. I have a G700 and did own a G500 but didnt like it. The G700 (or G700s) are much more comfortable.

Dont know that much about monitors so I cant really help you out there. I do know I prefer glossy screens over matte screens though as they seem to have richer colors. Thats just based on my own personal experience though and the ones Ive used over the years. I try to stick with brands like Samsung, HP, Dell or LG. I dont feel comfortable with the Korean brands yet with names Ive never heard of.

IMO when it comes to peripherals it's better to have a look what's out there in your price range and report back on what you like the look of. This way you can get feedback from people who have experience with said hardware. Mouse and KB preferences are too subjective to give a definitive answer.

You have a great point there thanks so much for the input personally the keyboard that I have right now is the Logitech G510S and what I want is a mechanical version of it and for the monitor I would love to get the monitors from Samsung because I watch a lot of movies so probably a pls panel would be great

Jump on your favourite parts site and filter for all mechanical keyboards and make a list of ones you think would suit you.

the keyboards that I deciding to get is between the:

Corsair Vengeance K95
Roccat Ryos MK Pro
Razer Blackwidow 2014 Ultimate Edition
Gigabyte Aivia Osmium
Logitech G710+
Corsair Vengeance K95 RGB

for the mouse I decided to go with the
Corsair Vengeance M65
Corsair Vengeance M65 RGB
Razer Ouroboros
Mad Catz M.M.O 7
Logitech G502 Proteus Core
Steel Series Sensei Raw
Steel Series Sensei

for the ram I decided between the Mushkin Enhanced Redline 16GB (2X8) 1866 MHZ Dimms and Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB (2X8) 1866 MHZ Model CMD16GX3M2A1866C9

for the monitor I decided between the Samsung S27D590P and the Asus MX279H Monitor

Of that list Id take the BlackWidow because I love the Cherry Blues. Run down to Best Buy and see if they have a G710+ out on display. My local store has both the Logitech and the BlackWidow out to peck on.

For the mice, I admit I really do like the G502. Ive pawed on it a lot at Best Buy but I think its a little too small for me though. The Sensei Raw is probably going to be the one Id recommend. Absolutely surgical sensor, good build quality, good weight and pretty good software. The right side buttons get on my nerves but I disabled them in the menu and so I dont have to worry about accidentally hitting them.

I have decided what keyboard I'm going to get now it will be the Corsair Vengeance K95 RGB Cherry MX Browns (I might also get the Cherry MX Reds also just in case) that's coming this August and for the ram it will be the Mushkin Enhanced Redline 16GB (2X8) 1866 MHZ Dimms and for the monitor and the mouse I still have to decide on the monitors that I listed before and for the mouse I narrowed it down to the:
Steel Series Sensei
Corsair Vengeance M65 RGB (to be released in about a month)
Razer Ouroboros

I think the K95 is a good choice out of the selection.
For mice I have experience with the Sensei and M65 and there is a big difference between them, the Sensei much much lighter and of lower profile than the M65. I'd encourage you to try and get a hold of them in a local computer shop to see which style suits you more.

hello everyone just to update you on my new desktop build I've decided what mouse I'm going to get now and it is the Steelseries Sensei MLG Edition.
