Help binding my connections with Vista

I currently have 4 x cable modems all feeding in to my main computer via cat5. For some reason when I bind the connections using Windows bridge I no longer get internet connectivity. Someone suggested that I bind the connections for load balancing using WinGate but from what I can see WinGate isn't supported by Vista as of yet.

So firstly, I need to find a way to load balance all of my incoming connections... After we get that squared away I need to figure out a way to have one of my ports off of my main rig feed back to my router and host the load balanced connection.

Is this feasible, if so what software do I need or what kind of steps do I need to take? I'm running Vista Business x86 as of current. I have 4 x SB5100's on Comcast each with a 30/2.5 connection feeding in to a pair of dual port PCI-E Intel NIC's (and I plan to use my mobo's onboard NIC to export to the router). The router I'm using is a Buffalo WHR-G54S w/ DD-WRT v23 SP2.

Thx in advance yall!! Who's the local networking pro? :p

Ah - after reading it a couple of times and mulling it over in my head, I think I know what u`r trying to do. Not that I know how u can instantly do it mind u.

My first question would be can u do it with 1 cm connected ( I`d thought u`d have tried that tho ) ? then can u do it with 2 ?

2ndly I`d be astonished if Vista gets on well with this, as I can`t get XP to recognize that a 1G, 400M and a 100M port is/are available for networking. For some reason it`ll always try and use the 100M, even tho a 1G link directly to a pc is available. So if u`r surfing/downloading u get a xxxkbs transfer r8 for file copying... and the 1G connection just lays there doing nothing.

3rdly have u had this going under XP ?

Haven`t tried WinGate myself.

I can get all 4 modems online and connected to my computer no problem. The problem I have is that when I go to bridge the connections it loses all connectivity.

And since I haven't been able to get the connections bridged or find a way to load balance all of them I haven't gotten as far as outputting the balanced connection to my router off of my onboard NIC.

Never tried under XP or 2k3.

I can`t help you with that Frag tbh.

I will say tho that I hate using bridged connections. Personally I notice a drop in performance particularly from my 24/7 mmorpg times. Always seemed to be active, even when there are no connections going on. (verified with tcpview)

Only used them when the machine is being a b1tch and a connection of some sort was required.

You can't bridge them. You'll want to set them up for load balancing or teaming, but Vista's poor at bridging, let alone anything complicated ;).

Howwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww? :)

Try a huge forum like [H].. they have some networking guru's. Try google too.

Phnom, I'm using bridging on Vista Ultimate ATM and it's better than XP. Bridging my second rig to first like a daisy chain so it gets intarwebs too.

Not sure if you can do it the same as XP, but all you do on XP is:

1. go into control panel > network connections

2. hold ctrl and select the two adapters

3. right click and select bridge connections

You should then have a extra adapter called "network bridge"

edit: I just read the whole post lol  noticed you already bridged the connections. Not sure if this might be a vista problem or not  that's how I've done it in the past and it's worked ok. But then I've never tried on Vista
