Hello to everyone here, I've lurked here for awhile, and swore I had registered but I guess I had not, at least not until today.

I started in computers back around 1978-79, anyone else remember punch cards? And now while I don't work directly in IT, but I work at a small manufacturing facility and being the only manager that is comfortable with hardware and software I was drafted into helping to maintain all our computer systems, be they desktop, laptop or built into a production or quality machine. We are a large company and have 100's of tech, but it's all phone support so I deal with 90% of the problems and pass off what I can't resolve on to the remote tech support.

I signed up today to make a post in the "New Build Advice" forum to get opinions on the parts I'm considering for my newest build, which will start our with an AIO for the CPU and air cooling for the CPU in a Define S, but once Caselabs starts offering the SMA8s in gunmetal grey I will be getting one and transferring the system into it and building my first custom loop to cool the CPU and a pair of GPUs

I'm a big fan of PC gaming although sadly I haven't had a lot of time to game the past 18 months, but I am having back surgery on Sept 30th so I'll have some time to work on my game backlog, which has gotten obscene. This is also why I rushing to get this new build done, since I want to have it ready to use during my recovery.

Welcome to OC3D. Looking forward to seeing your build log and wish you the best in your surgery.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Oh and TTL, I just want to say I absolutely love your reviews, especially since you cover things in so much more depth then others on Youtube, even those I like such as Jayztwocents.

In fact I spent a large chunk of this past weekend binge watching your case reviews to help me decide which to use until I can get a grey SMA8 and you sold me not only on the Define S and doing the build without any mechanical drives (although I have a Qnap NAS with 4TB of storage available as well as two empty HDD slots to expand the capacity if needed.)

Welcome to the OC3D forums fella, just seen your proposed build log, seems pretty solid IMHO, hope your surgery goes as planned and you have a swift recovery. Gods speed.

Thanks, not to swift I hope as I have one hell of a games backlog I have to work through, I haven't even installed Witcher 3 since I was saving it to play with all the eye candy cranked up. :D

Woop woop, team spinal surgery!
Hope all goes well for you and you have a quick recovery mate :)

And of course welcome to the best forums to pass the time on while you do so!

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome, I've been following TTL's Youtube channel for a year or so but only got around to checking it the site fairly recently and I'm thrilled to find it filled with such a welcoming and knowledgeable group of people.
