Hello Community! I am new to these forums but I am not new to Overclocking.

Currently I have an AMD 965 clocked at 4.01 GHz and a voltage of 1.45, (I want to hit 4.5 GHz but I got a bad CPU and no matter what I do, if I hit 4.1 GHz it crashes). Also being cooled by a Corsair H50, my temps never get above 50c and it cools better than my Noctua nh-d14 which stinks because now I have an expensive paperweight.

I have a(n) ASUS Crosshair Formula III MOBO with 2.66 on the NB with no voltage increase and am being cooled by a 40mm fan. GPU is currently fried, it was an ASUS EAH5870/g/ with an Accelero Xtreme on it. How it fried is still being investigated. My new plans for a GPU are the MSI R5870 Lightning II. Me and my friends were able to get a stable OC on one at 1.2ghz core and 1300 memory with temps never passing 90c, so I said to myself if I we can do that, I am defiantly getting one. I also use a dedicated PhysX card which is a XFX 9600xxx AlphaDog clocked at 714 core and 950 memory and works like a charm for a backup card until I get my new 5870.

My RAM is nothing special, it’s just some DDR3 1333 Supper Talent with no heat sink and is not OCed, and I have plans on getting some Corsair Dominator RAM shortly.

PSU is a BFG1000w Modular.

My case is the oh so elegant Silverstone Raven RV02, which is an AMAZING case. It cools better than my HAF 932 did which is nice considering I am not 100% liquid.

That about it. It’s just some info about me so you guys can get to know me better. Can’t wait to start talking on these forums!

I will post some pics up when I order my new 5870.

Come to the wrong forums to say the Noctua is bad mate, Ive got the air overclocking world record on the NH-D14! Some of us like silence and Ive never found a cpu the H50 cooled better on sadly.

Welcome though.

I didn’t say the D14 was bad I still love the thing which is why I am not selling it. I plan on putting it in a newer rig. My D14 was about 2c higher than my H50 is, maybe it’s my compound but my H50 surprisingly gets better temps for me. Also I live in the hottest state in the US and air-cooled systems become useless especially when my room can get up to 85f to 90f. Also I was using stock fans that came with my D14 that could be why my temps weren’t so good. My H50 is push pull with 2 120mm 2000RPM fans, pushing is the Cooler Master Excalibur and pulling is the same thing. The Excalibur moves air like nothing else. Or there could be something wrong with it?

Hello King of Sand, and welcome to OC3D, I am looking forward to getting my D14

but found it really hard to read what you wrote, I know there were words there somewhere but could not get my eyes to look at them - don't know why
