HD7970 Problems!

Hi!

I have an HD7970 which is now lagging in some games and in others it stops sending signals to my monitor for up to three seconds.
I've had one HD7970 die on me before, but then the computer froze up.

I can't find the problem myself, nor by Google, so have anyone here experienced something like it, or know what the problem might be?

My specs are: I7-3820, 8GB of memory and an HD7970.

Thanks!:D

Oh sorry forgot the PSU. It's an HX650w which should be more than enough for a single HD7970.

No it's not overclocked and the brand is HIS.

yeah it is more than enough, but if my memory serves me right, the HX series went through a bad patch, and alot of them were RMA'd

things i suggest you try

latest driver - see if it does the same
disable powerplay - incase its causing the card to shut down, which is shouldnt
reinstall OS
try different gfx card

If the bad patch is resent I'm probably out of the danger zone, my PSU was bought in May last year.

I have the latest drivers.

I reinstalled my OS about two months ago, and the computer din't see much use through the past two months so I don't know how much of a change that would do.

I only have a 5450 to try and it can't even run games, so I'm stuck there.

I'll try to disable PowerPlay.

Thanks for you answer:D
