Just started my Folding@Home client for the first time, i'm just using my HD6950 at the moment in my spare time

when im not on my rig.

I haven't really read any tutorials yet so i'm sure i'm probably doing something wrong but it seems to be working!

Right at this moment in time it is showing roughly 7500 - 8200 ppd, i dont know if that's good or average or bad, i don't care really

lol as its my first time, i'm just really happy to finally have a decent use for all this down time that my rig has

I will read through some tutorials tomorrow probably, but if someone catches this thread tonight could you let me know

if its ok to stop and start these folding clients or should they be ran non stop, i mean this with regards to accumalating points, if

i stop and start do my points add up or might they not get registered(or whatever the official term is)??

Like i said i kinda got carried away with the idea without doing my homework, sometimes my enthusiasm gets the better

of me haha

I will get up to speed tomorrow and i hope to make a worthwhile contribution to the Folding team here

OH, and i put the Team number as 98860, as i thought IF i was getting points i may as well send them this way from day one,

if ive missed some official protocol for joining the group please accept my apologies, and if so what do i need to do?

Thanks ppeeeeppss

When folding on GPU, there shouldn't be any changed in points when you start/stop the folding. As long as you complete in the time given, you will get the points shown

7500 - 8200 PPD on your 6950 is good I think. Most i've got on my 6970 is 10k with a overclock, so yours seems to be working fine

And welcome to the team mate!

Yeah as Dipzy has mentioned you will get the points as long as you complete the WU's in the given time period. And oh, welcome to the team

Hi arnzzz and welcome to the team.

There is no protocol for joining the team, just jump in feet first.

Like has already been said. If you are just folding on the GPU there is no harm in stoping and starting folding on it. If you chose to fold on the CPU (SMP specificaly) then you want to try and finish a work unit in one go to get the most bonus points, as the bonus is based on how quickly the work unit is completed and sent back.

Oh and you should make sure you get a passkey from the stanford site if you havn't already.

Thanks Pickster

I have a passkey now, and my points from folding yesterday have shown up on the board with all the rest

which is awesome, that really made my day lol.
so, does this mean I can change my signature thingy to "Redline @ OC3D"?

Anyway, ive got to start getting comfortable with the V7 F@H Control, so I can optimise what I can do with
the available

hardware that I have

MMMMMM Bonus Points, i like the sound of those

Wow, i dont know what happened to my last post, im not drunk i swear haha

If you are talking about the stats I and others have in our sigs, then yes. As long as your points are showing on the extreme overclocking folding stats the sig will work
