HD4850 512MB or 1GB?

Greetings :wavey:

I've read the review on this site about how the PowerColor 2BG card is slower than a stock 512MB card due to it's slower clock speeds.

My question is does anybody know whether the ASUS 1GB version will also have a slower clock speed and thus underperform the standard card?

P.S. Please read my posting in the mainboard section and comment if you have any advice for me on building an overclock friendly mid-range pc.

Cheers

From what I remember the Asus card has the same clockspeed as the reference cards so it shouldn't be any slower. Hope that helps :)

I have an Asus 4850 / 512Mb with stock clockspeeds @ 625/993 and, it goes like hell with speed @ 695 / 1110 MHz(2220MHz efective), and all this with stock cooling. The temps dont go beyond 60°C in Antec 300 case.

CrissTM & Brooksie, thanks for those comments.

It looks as though the 512MB version will be the one I opt for :)
