It's interesting that MSI and Gigabyte have been giving us previews but nothing at all has been dropped by Asus yet.

Pricing is pretty much what we should have expected, lokk at everything that x99 has theat x79 doesn't, SATA express, M.2 and even all the good audio components on the motherboard which most x79 boards lack.

All we need to know now is performance!

They're both high end gaming boards so don't think they'll all cost as much.

The more bog-standard X99 boards should come in a good bit cheaper, although they'll still likely be more expensive than the Z97 boards given things like Quad Channel Memory and the much bigger socket make the board more complex.

Yeah, add that to the need for more/better VRMs due to the larger power requirements, the list goes on.

You are correct these are higher end options, but I'd wait for everybody to show their hand and for reviews to come out.

So looks like my poor old 2500k will be staying for a bit longer, could never justify paying that much for the memory let alone the motherboards

the new Haswell-E Motherboard look very cool and very user friendly to me anyway i am looking to upgrade to the z97 motherboard should i wait and go for a Haswell-E Motherboard

I would think that the performance could not justify the price at all. Just so you can have the latest. Gaming wise.

I dont think it will be GROUND BREAKING enough for us *normal* gamers to pay that price premium.

My 2500k still holds strong against the Intel 4th generation, and I don't see DDR4 being utilized for years, at least not in games.
