H80 & AMD 1090T Bad Temps

Hello everyone,

So like a month ago i bought my self an H80 ( upgrade from a CNPS 10X) and the temps that i am getting are not really good.

On full load (F@H ) im getting around 47-48 C on an ambient of 25C... ON STOCK 3.2GHZ

I am using the stock thermal paste that came with the unit and ive replaced the two stock Corsair fans cause they were too loud with some Air penetrators AP121, radiator is mounted on the back of the case as an exhaust.

I dont think that these temps are fine but i could be wrong, any ideas? Thanks

48° at full load is not exactly what id call "bad temps".

Especially on a relatively warm ambient temperature!

You could however get a little extra by using the rad as an intake so it gets some not pre-warmed air.

Yeah but take into consideration that the safe limit for these CPUs is 62C and im running on stock speeds.

Before on my CNPS 10x i was getting better temperatures which is weird

couple of things to try, get some arctic silver thermal paste and apply evenly. Secondly as said use the rad as intake, maybe if your pc case is under a desk or its being obscured in some way move it?

Pc is right next to me so its not obscured, i had the fans as intake before but that was making turbulence, so the fans were loud, even at the lowest speed possible

I would say those temperatures are actually decent. AMD 6 cores are known to run hot.

Also the temperature due to ambient is decent. My main rig with an i5 760 on stock is sitting around the 30-35 degree mark at 14 degrees ambient with a custom loop.

The reason why idont like these temps is that people are getting around 4GHz with around 50-55C load temps ( yes i know ambient varies )

If i try to OC then temps will go at 60+ which is obviously not good

buy some MX-2 see how that works out, if you can send back the H80 and get a H100, see I think the 100W+ chips if your thinking about a closed loop get a h100 if your going ivy an 80mm will do you fine, but if you're like me and want overkill buy the H100 with everychip even if it's a 775 chip lol xD

Lol just put an H100 EVERYWHERE!
