H50

I've got an H50 and I'm pretty disgruntled with it. Just sitting here browsing websites and forums for a couple hours. Everything at default, I'm looking at CPU temps of 42 42 43 37. Now I'm not sitting on Bondi Beach in Bermuda shorts and a singlet in 38-40c temps. Oh no, I'm sitting in my basement in Denmark. It's October and, without looking at my thermometer, I can feel I need my slippers on! Ave temps 20-22c.

I've tried every setup... Intake... exhaust...2 fans...one fan. Everything out ...and...in again. New paste... check paste... New paste again. (Arctic Silver 5) I started with the gunk that was pre-applied. Wasn't any better.

When I OC to 3.6GHz, I get 80+ when gaming. We're talking Battlefield Bad Company 2 (Multi-player) Full eye candy. Not Crysis single player.

System Specs:-

Samsung SpinPoint T166 HD501LJ 500 GB for back up

I would like to hear of NorthQ 3590 Siberian Tiger II reviews. Is it better or is it also just a piece of cXXp?

It's got a bigger rad, so I was just wondering.

Can't fit a Noctua blah blah 14 breezeblock in my system, coz I'm an "enthusiast" and as such I waste my money on ram with tall heat spreaders. I'm sure the same can be said for all the fat-boy coolers on the market today. Please prove me wrong. In the reviews I've read, the H50 isn't a million miles away from the Noctua breezeblock's temps, but I am.

Give me some tips/tricks, advice, what ever. As you can see, I need HELP!!!

Yeah I looked at those North Q things.

Mate to be completely honest if the H50 doesn't cut it then neither will any of these all in one water cooling solutions. They're all pretty much bang on the same, Domino, NorthQ, Corsair, Asus ETC.

They all use the same sort of pump with the same sort of radiator ETC. They ARE NOT high performance they literally do three things -

Cool *quite* well

Are quiet in some situs (depending on CPU, OC, case)

Make you feel really cool because you have water cooling in your PC.

But honestly, other than that they're nothing special. I would strongly imagine my new Noctua with ten heat pipes will get the job done equally as well as my Corsair with two fans and two shrouds (rifled) and make a lot less noise.

Also bear in mind the Corsair fan that comes with the H50 is lovely and quiet but a bit naff on shifting air. I am now using two Silverstone fans and they are very quiet and my CPU is very cool. But, I am using a Phenom 2. Not a beastly I7. And for that you're going to either need to go with a real water cooling system or a Noctua.

I have the Asetek LCLC and the Corsair H50. Both of mine are in Push/Pull exhausting air from the case. One is exhausting to the rear of a CoolerMaster Storm Sniper and the other is exhausting out the top of a CoolerMaster RC690. Both CPU's are i7-870's and both are running cooler than they used to. I get 33c-59c usually with a spike to 63c sometimes,.....well within what I was told would be good.

I'm not using the stock fans on either cooler anymore. I use four Enermax Magma 120MM fans that move 69.15CFM of air, but make far less noise at 18dBA. each. I had some Scythe Slipstream fans on them but they were 37dBA each and drove me nuts with the noise.

EDIT: I just realized how old this thread is. Sorry.

Since i got my H-50 (way before the nh-d14 even released) ive been happy with it (not the price mind you). It keeps my 980x @4.00 ghz frosty. Like 33c- load (hour of prime 95) max 59c with one fan with two in push pull i get temps of max 50-52c.

nice temps Adicool. I've got mine in push/pull but i got rid of the corsair fans also and replaced with xigmatek. Very happy with the results but now got the itch to buy the below parts to go into my PC-K62. Still undecided.

blackice stealth 280 rad

Primoflex Pro LRT Tubing Red 2M 7/16

XSPC Dual 5.25" RES

6 x G1/4 to 1/2 " barbs
