H100i whining noise

HI^_^

Just got my h100i today, and when I powered up my system there was this really annoying whining noise coming from the fans. Is there any ways to fix it?
I've got a couple of old Corsair-fans but I've read that I'll only be able to control the fans that came with it.

Install the newest software off the Corsair site, this should fix your issue

Go to "Downloads" and download firmware update 1.0.4

Nah, can't hear it over the helicopter noise at very high RPM's.

The noise still exists after the firmware update but it is reduced significantly. The only way so far I know to get rid of it is power the fans separately of course rendering the corsair link software almost useless.

I have heard people are plugin there h100i fans into the motherboard or into a fan controller and it stops. This was with the early versions maybe you bought some old stock in that case send for an RMA corsair has great customer service.

There's no need to send it back, it's only the fans making a whining noise. I've gotten pretty used to it now, the most annoying part about is that it's the only thing making any noise.

Guess I'll be buying some Noctuas or something

try powering the fans via motherboard try different combos other wise try get it replaced. Look into it on google or something as well i have heard problems like this on the h80's but not on the new ones.

I have the intel cooler and the pump makes the usual rattle that they all seem to suffer at some stage. I took the CPU PWM header off and fitted it to the SYS FAN header and set the fan fan speed on the header to 80% and bing, no rattle . Worth a shot hope it helps
