H100i - Failure

A couple of weeks ago I bought and installed a H100i which came with firmware 1.05 which means it is one of the later revisions that is supposed to not have pump whine drone whatever you want to call it.

All Has been fine up until today.

When I got back tonight I can hear a drone whine horrible noise coming of the pump. I have stopped all fans to isolate where the sound is coming from and it is definately the pump. When I dissconnect the h100i sata power cable the noise goes away.

Any body have any ideas of a DIY Fix ?

I seem to be always RMA'ing stuff to corsair this past couple of years and at 30 euros everytime to send back to netherlands just really pisses me off

When this happened with the older hydro series that were connected via fan cable I could just adjust the voltage untill the sound went away.

Here is a little video I made of the problem -

are you throttling the fans through the pump/controller?
like before the "patch" users were getting a pump/controller noise.
12/7 v those fans via PSU and re-evaluate. if noise is gone, but you have fanage
i'd say its a busted controller bridge. if it continues, then with the controller out of
the loop, then it'd be a pump growling, possibly?

All my fans are connected to my motherboard headers.. I find msi fan control much more responsive than the corsair link software..

Try removing it from your system, giving it a little shake while its powered on - to see if there are any air bubbles trapped. If that doesn't work then unfortunately its sounds like an RMA...

Removed it today, shook it around a bit and put it back on.. Still making the same noise !! Looks like another RMA
