hey all,

I installed the h100 a couple days ago. I changed the stock fans with akasa vipers . today I realised that changing the settings from its controller doesn't really change the fans speed. do I miss sth?

I lowered the speed on all the other fans in the case just to hear the difference at changing the controller setting from low to high to the akasa ones. it takes few seconds for the fan to spin at specific speed,it's ok!

thanx anyway

LOL, I could've told you that. I thought you that. Just gotta be patient.

im a 12volt person straight off PSU. and if they need slowing down use the 7v adapters

or change to a different fan combination.

i saw a link with some cat that had 4 1850's on a motherboard fan header "to control"

the voltage. and was attepting to run another push/pull on the lower fan header.

i try and keep the motherboard fan headers for only the cpu. i cant see that a push/pull

on the motherboard fan header. they just weren't designed with that much load passing

on those small traces. using a fan controler is more plausable.

agreed I think putting a fan on every header is stupid. Sure they put them there for us to use but I can help but think of the power its taking away from something else. only hsf gets plugged in to bobo for fans specially on an overclocked rig

Most motherboards can handle 15-20W per head and are all seperate usually. Some can handle upto 30W be careful adding toomany fans to a head. Personaly I wasn't paying attention one time and hooked up a Delta that pulled 30W to a head and burnt out the trace...

the fans are connected on the h100s controller which is taking power straight from the psu

this is temporary , until Lamptron sends me my FC-10

It does change the fan speed. If you have the H100 set to max it will not spin the fans at max until the cpu gets hot and it will ramp up the fan. If it don't then you have issues with the controller inside the H100

I have 2 cougar fans for push pluged into the H100 and the 2 fans that came with it as pull on a fan controller. If im at idle and i set the H100 on 1 they do slow down a bit and then get a little bit faster with each setting on the H100 but wont spin at max unless i stress the cpu

wasn't it Tom that asked if one was to use the H100 with fans other than the corsair to simply

use the controller (CPU block button) for the desire temp and the fans on 12v or if quiteness

is need to down the voltage to 7v with an adapter or resistor like in the noctua kits.

ive seen alot of peeps pissed at corair because the controller cant/wont power their fans. and

mostly the high start voltage is why the fans wont respond or the pinout resistance is too great.

me i use the 12/7v and the controller or low, unless gunna need to tweak the CPU and ill jack

the controller to high. but thats just me.
