Guitar Hero type game for PC - Free!! (Frets On Fire)

I downloaded this game last night and it's so funny :)

For us poor people who can't afford an xbox360/ps2 & guitar hero etc, it's excellent.

I just installed it on windows and it crashed and didn't seem as responsive as in linux for some reason :confused: :( nvm will boot into linux to play it.

I changed the keys to ZXCVB :)

I notice there is an importer for guitar hero tracks and also there are some cool mods & new tracks on the forums.
 
Mk got it but idk how to get the new tracks. BUt whoever made the guitar parts on the default tracks are super awesome seriously.

You can use the controller if you have an adapter for USB :)

There are loads of vids on youtube

Looking on the forum, there are hundreds of songs to download aswell including the guitar hero + guitar hero 2 ones :)

When I get home Im gunna check this software out.

Well ive registerd on the forums and cant get crap. Not only that, idk where to get the Guitar Hero songs, and idk how to import them to the program either. :(
 
There is a guitar hero import thing built into the game

Song Editor > Import Guitar Heroes

Song Editor > Import Song

Do you have a guitar hero controller :confused:

I find the proper songs to be too hard on the keyboard :(

The highest score I have got on "bang bang, mystery man" is 95% 32928

I find that one the easiest song.
 
You gotta get song packs eq :) Those three songs are fun for a while, but after you realize how the do hammer ons and such, new songs with great solos are a lot of fun, I just used the fretsonfire.net forums and got my songs, there are guitar hero packs on there too. I still can't do some amazing/medium ones, but I'm getting there :)

To tox, make sure you are hitting the shift or enter key when hitting a note to actually strum the string. I was confused for a while. To hit a green note hit F1+enter.
