GTX680 wait for non reference or buy it now?

I wonder is it worth to wait for non refernece cards, or Reference ie EVGA is good enough.

I like when card is quiet and cool, so probably nonreference will do the job.

Another question is it worth to pay more for nonreference card?

For better cooling, a factory overclock and better OC potential I would see what the none ref cards are like. This is what I would do personally, but the ref cards are still pretty good.

Yes I know they cracking cards, but MSI lightning wont be quiet I reckon, same Zotac.

If I'd buy EVGA + EK Warer Block coud be better solution for me.

I absolutely agree. Definitely non ref

If you plan on watercooling ref is the bestway to go because there most likely won't be a block for most of the non refs except maybe the Asus DCII. EVGA is the best brand for watercooling as well because they are also the only ones that cover removing the cooler from the card in the warranty, i'm sure that overclocking is also covered but i'm not sure on that one.

Definitely EVGA and an EK block if you plan on water cooling, I think they are bringing out a Super overclock version of Hydro copper card, would probably still be cheaper to buy a ref card and an EK block though.

Grab a stock one and see how you get on with it, if it is a little warmer or louder than you would like at load you can all ways grab a 3rd party cooler for it, ive found the artic cooling coolers (and also this geilid icy vision on my current 5870) to be better than probably all of 3rd party cooling solutions that ive come across/seen first hand, ive never seen the point of wasting the extra money on the top end versions like the lightning and stuff so i cant comment on the coolers they come with...

Neither my accelero twin turbo on my 8800gt or this geiled cooler on my 5870 spin up past the minimum fan speed ever, and neither got any louder untill you manualy set the fans past 60% tho even at 100% they are only slightly noticeable over the rest of the machine when you are going back and forth between minimum fans and max fans listening for them.

The twin turbo got my 8800gt got the load temps down from 94c at stock with silly loud fan noise while folding to 55c with a fairly heavy oc and i got my 5870 with the geiled cooler on it so i cant comment on the stock cooler for it but it loads at around 50c with 1050mhz core and 1350 memory.

TL;DR Grab a stock one and stick a 3rd party cooler if you cant live with it as is.

Thanks guys.

Ok now when GTX780, this year or next?

If this there is no point changing from my gtx580 and I can wait for Kepler 110, if next year it is too long for me to wait.

If you have a gtx 580 there isn't much use of buying a 680 I would just get another 580 the performance gap between the two cards is minimal and if you plan to run triple display just get another 580

Stick with a single 580. What the heck you playing and at what resolution that it can't handle ? (more than 1 or 2 would be acceptable)

Then again if you have the cash to flash. Then again if you have the cash, you'd just buy it and not worry about it.

Non ref is the way to go for better thermal performance and so lower noise. Non ref coolers are the biggest difference though imo.
