so im getting a GTX460 hawk, its already coming in the mail. but my question is will the overclock shorten its lifespan? cuz i've been using ATI eversince i started PC gaming and it worked well for me(other than the time when one of my fan screws fell on the card and fried it -.-). i heard that the 460's are like OC beasts but i want you guy's opinion too.

Edit: oh and will the 460 hawk be able to run bc2 maxed out everything on a 26" monitor?

adding like 100hz on the core clock wont do anything mate, unless you run it it 106c 24/7 then yess that will decrese its lifespan.

Its not the size of the monitor its the resolution, check the reviews and see how it faired in BC2 at 1920x1080/1200 as that is more than likely what resolution your monitor is.

Overclocking may shorten its life but you would more than likely upgraded LONG before it fails from overclocking aslong as you dont overheat it just like with any hardware so i wouldnt worry to much, ive been using my 8800gt since release and its been overclocked since about 3 days after i got it and its still going strong.

well. i bought the hawk because i read that it has the best cooling.

yea, my screen resolution is 1920x1200. and i saw in guru3d its 39FPS :/

i replaced my card twice last year. but yea thanks for the reply.

Even if its oced it will take years don’t worry about it just keep the temps under 80C. and it should do 1920x1200 max settings with some aa
