GTX460 Folding for Redline @ OC3D

Just finished my first two WU's at 11000 PPD on a Gigabyte 1 meg card, and this was also while running GPU2 on a GTS250 and SMP2 on an i7 930. Clocks are @ 860/1720 default mem and Vgpu

Setup was a bit of a pain but finally got it all working.

The only downside is that it seems that having to run GPU2 on the GTS250 is a bit of a hit on SMP2 and the GTS250 PPD vs prior GPU3/SMP2 performance with 2x GTS250's.

Just some preliminary results....

That's prett damn good...nvidia's site says it uses only 10w more than a GTS250 which nets me around 6k ppd stock...looks like the GTX460 is a much better points/power ratio.

I found in the past that mixing and matching GPU's effected what was single GPU or matching GPU performance, is that what you mean?

I think the hit is on the CPU because of GPU2 client , GPU3 seems to use less of the CPU!

nice numbers Steve and correct me if i am wrong BTW..

I think my next Upgrades are GTX460's.

I'm pretty sure they'll release a new client soon soon that can cope with both card generations like they did for G92/GF200 (or whatever it was, gtx260+).

You have it right Ray, GPU2 is the culprit here. The bad thing about this setup with the GTS 250 on GPU2 is it's getting 66xx WU's again for a 300 PPD loss AND it's using more CPU.

I guess I can't complain too much as HFM.NET said 34,333 PPD this morning before I left for work.

I also did a VGPU bump to 1.05, and temps are running in the lower 60C area

It ran over night @ 880/1760 and 11,232 PPD:D

Tried it @ 900/1800, but it EUE'd at about 15% through the WU.:(

These are damn nice Folding cards! great price and all

time to get rid of my GTS250's ...

I told you guys how to fix that......

lol i just fold it mate its gotta be done so i might aswell plus am not too fussed my i7's ppds went up from 17 to just about 20k so its kinda covering the lost ppd from them

it seems as tho around our clocks is the highest OC acheavble

i have only seen asus cards over 900mhz core

If you'd try GPU3 there rarely will be 66XX WU's AND you'll get higher PPD from your i7........
