Is there much to be paid attention to on the stamped brand ?

Is Leadtek or Zoltan or the likes comparable to the likes of EVGA, XTX etc ?

Are the vanilla versions overclockable thus saving major £s on the retail OC'd cards ? :coffee:

Reason being is overclockers are doing a Leadtek 280 for £264 which seems really good value ;)

Your thoughts, gentlemen:crazy::coffee:

The best OC'in card for me was the cheapest brand - inno3d!

I've had a fair few evga cards which always clocked nicely, this xfx one isn't very good at oc'in, bfg's always seem to clock high... What I hear is there is a pecking order in terms of who can cherry pick silicon, xfx/bfg getting theirs before zotac for eg.

I always buy stock and OC.

I've asked this before as well and its more or less boils down to customer support/step-up/warranty etc. Although with the high end cards like EVGA FTW + BFG HC, they are the best bunch of the pile in the factory and are near enough guaranteed to be good performers. I stand to be corrected.

I opted for the std EVGA 280. It should clock to FTW speeds (2400+/670+) without problem, has a mahoosive warranty (which even covers w/c'ing it) and can 'step-up' within 3 months of purchse....which might not be a bad thing depending on the new die-shrink cards.....Can be had for around £330 from quality retailers.......

I read up on Leadtek as I was thinking about the very same card a few weeks back. They basically have non existet customer services from many different forums I read.

While it's a nice cheap card, if anything goes wrong, ya could be in trouble.
