you need more question marks mate.
the titan is pretty much overkill, but it only makes sense in sli or if you are all about power consumption. else the 690 kills it.
Titan actually uses quite a lot of power. It's much more Fermi than 104, given that it has the kitchen sink bolted to it.
This is why overclocks so far have been a bit lame.
Titan is not worth it IMO, not in any circumstances. It's basically terrible when it comes to £ to performance as you can easily put together a SLI set up that will murder it for around £500. From what I have seen it performs about on par with a pair of GTX 660s in SLI. So £800+ makes it totally unrealistic when it comes to price.
The only thing I could possibly recommend it for is 3x 120hz monitors running 3D in surround, and even then two Titans will struggle with Crysis 3.
for gaming it's stupid to get one. but for other stuff that needs loads of gpu power? 4way sli titan will murder anything besides a k20 card.
if you hold on Tom is just about to test one so maybe wait for those results?
EDIT : ^^^ and there he is
but with better drivers surely the card will get better with time just like the 680, 690 and the rest?
Well you all here have given good advice as always. So i am building a brand new system would a KFA2 GeForce GTX 680 LTD OC V4 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card ALL WHITEbe good in sli i was thinking of buying two of them for gaming and me be a bit of video editing.
It's easy to get a pair of 680s for less than a Titan and they will absolutely destroy it.
It's actually really odd that I am a believer in SLI because until the 690 I was still very hesitant to recommend it given that it just didn't have the support it should have.
However, times have changed. For quite a while now Nvidia have been relying on it (the 690) as their winning flagship card so have really been putting a lot of effort into making sure SLI works properly. As such it works now more often than not (only issue I had recently was Far Cry 3 and this was a slip up by Nvidia that's now fixed) and as such once again, Nvidia have priced themselves out with their own cards*
*Over the years Nvidia have made quite a few booboos. For example, two 460s in SLI beat a 480 and cost £150 less. Mind you, back then SLI support wasn't as good as it is now. Now? as I said above, the only title I had an issue with was Far Cry 3 and I don't play that any way because it's crap. Mind you, fair play to them the latest driver release has solved loads of multi GPU latency issues and does now work properly with FC3.
KFA2 are BFG so the warranty is UK based should you ever need it, and IIRC you can deal directly with them.
The only warranty better IMO is Gigabyte so I would strongly consider the 680 Windforce as it comes with a three year UK based warranty.
I guess it all depends on how long you were planning to keep them.
May i ask HD 7990 or GTX 680 what would you advice????????
