GTX 780, 770 and 760ti due May/June

Looks like ill be picking up cheapish 680's in a few months then if the performance on the 780 really is 30% over the 680 :p 15% is what im predicting tbh.

Well, if these come out before the HD8000 series they might very well come at a price that's 30% over the 680 as well

The GTX 780 looks attractive. 5GB Frame buffer would be great for my surround setup. Maybe I'm finally upgrading from my GTX 480's ? :D

Will still be a bunch of people going OMG I NEED THE TOP CARDS so good for people like me who have no problem picking up stuff a generation late/2nd hand for a big saving.

I got two 512MB sticks of DDR PC3200 400MHz if you want a great deal. Only £50 per stick! Bargain! ;)

760 ti seems enticing to me, if it really is $299 or around £200-£250 with the same performance as a 670 (maybe a tad too hopeful, i know). But would make a good upgrade from this now-aging 6850 :)

780 is GK110 or "Titan LE".

Seems some one at Nvidia got a hard on and decided to release a whole "new" range.

Sadly their hard on proved erroneous because only the 780 is anything 'new' (of course it isn't, it's a failed cut down Titan).

The most exciting bit (honestly, guv) is that the 770 is a rebadged 680 and the 760ti is pretty much a rebadged 670.

Way to go Nvidia ! what a waste of time.

The reason I like the "Titan LE" or "GTX 780" whatever it gets named is because it's affordable to buy two of them for SLI and it has that enourmous 5GB frame buffer. Honestly I would have bought the GTX 680's when they released had they launched with 3 or 4GB buffers. I just didn't feel that the extra 512MB over my GTX 480's would be enough for BF3.

The resolution I play at (7680x1600) uses 100% of my VRAM right now and I thought I wouldn't want to pay all that money on 2GB 680's only to have it not be enough.

I don't think I'd ever have that problem with the 5GB 780's though.

Nah you'd probably be good with those.

I just don't get the other cards at all. You can already get 4gb 680s so talk about a pointless card. It's just Nvidia creating a whole new range out of nothing. AGAIN.

It's true you can get 4GB GTX 680's but it's a price premium and the water blocks aren't always easy to come by. I considered buying the EVGA 4GB card and for the price they wanted at the time it's almost the same as a Titan.

The prices have fallen now and it's a little more reasonable but the GTX 780 launches in May/June making a purchase now pointless.

I would be waiting for "Haswell" to be released first before bying any new Nvidia. Some people have forgotten that no sooner was PCI-e 3.0 released than the specs for PCI-e 4.0 were announced. So I suspecet PCI-e 3.0 to be around for another 2 years before it is superseded if not less.

Who cares if he needs it or not? If it becomes cheaper because of the new line up then more power to him and everyone else who is smart enough to pick one up at a cheaper price.
