GTX 660 idle temp of 47?

Hello i just got my new gpu gtx 660 3gb from scan.co.uk

It seems the idle temp is 47 using hardware monitor.When gaming on black ops 2 the temp goes to about 56. im sure this isnt normal even though its superoverclocked..
any ideas?

What are the load-teamps ?

The fan probably doesnt turn up until it gets warmer so its more quiet.

Maybe look into making a custom fan-profile with afterburner.

the OC on supers isnt really a barn burner, more for a comfort speed.
what case and fan arrangement do you have?

i found out that it was the new drivers i installed from nvidia, was the beta black ops 2 drivers and it seemed to put the volts to 0.92 or something from 0.8 ish and thats why i was getting high idle temps but the load temp in game was 57 no higher

Also if you are running multiple monitors, at least for me (560 Ti x2), the card with two or monitors plugged in doesn't throttle back and you will get higher idle temps do to that.

If you are running multiple monitors, it could be that. If not, probably that driver issue.
