GTX 580 SOC REALLY LOUD!

Hi all, im new, just signed up today and i just finished my custom build yesterday...

I have a gigabyte GTX 580 SOC but when i play a game such as BF3 on ultra settings it just gets so loud, like unbelievably loud. most likely above 30-40db and at idle, my guess is it sits around 20-25db.... anyone know if i did anything wrong or what i can do to help make it quieter?

Download a copy of MSI afterburner, and set up a custom fan profile - see if that helps. It'll also tell you what temps your card is hitting.

what case do you have it in?

only the windforce cooler is a pretty quiet one and if it is spinning up so fast it could because of an airflow problem with your case.

I have a cooler master 430 elite... I heard some good reviews that it had really good airflow... but my antec kuhler 920 uses up 1 fan slot and blocks access to another on the top of the case. Ill see what i can do with that MSI afterburner program.

Loud means nothing you need to tell us fan speeds and temps. But tbh something isnt right mine is foooooking quiet even at 975 on the Core
