Hi there. I am just starting out with OC'ing both my CPU and my GPU, and came across your forum. I picked up a stock EVGA 570 a few days after they were released, and haven't regretted it one bit. For day-to-day OC, I am running at 1000 mV, 850 mHz Core, 1700 mHz Shader, and 2200 mHz Memory. For benchmarking, I was able to run stable at 1100 mV, 900 Core, 1800 Shader, and 2300 Memory. This generated a 87c max in Unigine Heaven at 16xAF 4xAA w/normal tessellation. I think I could probably eek out a bit more, but don't want to push it to far with the stock cooler.
My rig is a HAF932, Rampage III Formula, i7 950 @4.02, and I am cooling everything w/ air (my cpu cooler is a Noctua nh-d14). I think my next step is an aftermarket air cooler for the 570. Let me know if you have any specific questions or suggestions.
87c is quite hot no?
turn the fan speed up man
Nvidia cards can handle WAY more heat that a radeon card can. 87c is pretty safe still.
That was at about 60% stock fan, which is surprisingly quiet. I just forced it to 85%, and the max temp topped at 65c, but my avg FPS in Heaven dropped by 5 for some reason (maybe voltage?).
I adjusted the Afterburner fan profile to ramp up higher, and am now getting the same ~49 FPS at about 73C, although it gets quite loud.
