Gts 250

So I was offered a 1gb GTS 250 by a friend who is upgrading their computer. He said I can have for $50. Now I know it's not a top of the line card, but it is better than my current 512mb 4670. In the US I can get the 1gb GTS 250 for about $120 new. Thing is I've been saving for a 5750 or a 5770. I buy my PC parts from retail stores since I don't like ordering them online.

Do you guys think I should buy it? It's $70 less than a new one would cost and the cheapest 5750 I can find is $160 while the cheapest 5770 is $180. My max resolution is currently 1024x768 since my TV is my monitor, but I may be getting a new monitor in a month or two (for free from my roommate), max resolution is 1440x900.

This is in USD.

yes get it!! its an extremely good buy!!! then you can get a 5870 when the prices go down...

and a gts250 can cope with most games today...

I'll wait for more opinions and decide. The most demanding games I play are Crysis and Bad Company 2.

Crysis run pretty well on all high settings and no AA at 1024x768 with about 35fps. Bad Company 2 runs at medium/high with no AA at 1024x768 at about 40fps average. So I would imagine better fps and the a slight possibility of putting some settings higher and keep a good average fps.
