WHO HERE IS READY FOR GRAN TURISMO 5!!!!

I am all ready for this game, got a cock pit, racing wheel, and a nice 1080p display to show this games amazing gloryness. AHHHHH! i am so hyped. 1000+ cars and over 40 tracks as well as "Top Gears" introduction. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All over it... But wanna finish with Black Ops and ACB first. Will likely start playing it around xmas.

Really annoyed Amazon stopped offering their DLC on their pre orders... Really would have bought it for the McLaren F1...

not really. by that logic you must not have bought portal, half life 2 or call of duty 4 or starcraft 2, all of them were based of old technology when they were released ESPECIALLY starcraft 2. and whether or not its old technology it is un doubtable the best looking racing game in existence. i have grid, dirt 2, pgr, etc for my PC and regretfully Foza 3 on 360, and i max all the settings on PC and non come close to the detail polyphony digital put into the cars/tracks. not just detail in the resolution and colors but detail as in they perfected every line, nook, and cranny of OVER 1000 cars both inside and out. as well as the tracks. EVERY car lover PC fanboy or not will get this game no doubt. hell even the so called Demo that you had to pay $20 for sold more copies than most racing games did.

in fact Gran Turismo 5 prologue (the $20 demo) sold more copies than ALL the dirt 2 games on all the platforms put together.

The technology i was speaking about was the ps3 itself :/ DX11 with tessellation would be just arghhhh cant find the words *splat*

why does it matter if its old technology. that to me sounds like a huge bash on the PC considering it uses new technology yet there isnt a racing game on PC that can touch GT5. just because its old doesnt mean its bad.

older hardware, maybe...

but, when its optimised software

optimised software on older hardware > average software on brand spanking hardware

Had this yesterday - it was a surprise as I thought it was out in the 1st few days of December. It's an Xmas pressie for me so the mrs was kind enough to let me have 2 races - went for the GTR and had a go in the Castrol Supra. Even though it was a really, reeeaaaaaally long wait, it seems to be a well polished game (as are all of the GT series) and can't wait to get into the GT mode

The gfx are simply awesome - Who cars if it's 'old tech' if it looks amazing??? I'm currently playing CSS, Starcraft 2 and will be into GT5 - I guess I'm a massive fan of 'old tech'!!!

F in console only

i played the 100 lap endurance race on the speed so many times and i had loads of the polyphony cars

This game is an atrocity.

What's absolutely hysterically funny is how no one seems to be able to admit it. It's almost like just because they waited five years for it it has to be good right? wrong.

Even reviewers are either complete thickos or they don't seem to realise they are totally contradicting themselves. Mind you, it's probably that they're scared. See, I know this guy who is a really honest reviewer. Recently he wrote a review and he had to pull it because his honesty upset some one. But, at least he held onto his integrity and didn't butter up the review and sell out.

That, sadly, is not what game reviewers are doing right now.

I urge you to take a look at this review from Eurogamer. A site that for years I saw as honest and true to calling a spade a spade.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2010-11-24-gran-turismo-5-review

And then cast your eyes over this. Which is basically a public flogging showing all of the hypocritical things that EG said about the game. It's a huge long list of complaints by EG about the serious problems this game has, ended with a 9/10

Maybe after five years they have just become delusional?

I like it and that's all that matters to me lol

There is a few bugs with it I have noticed like getting stuck on loading screens but that is that has put it down for me

IGN's review is even funnier. Doozys such as -

Gran Turismo 5 is a 10/10 simulator wrapped up in a 5/10 game

And

Graphics

It's moments of sheer beauty ultimately outweigh the uglier ones, though sadly they don't quite outnumber them. 9 out of 10

LMFAO

Presentation

A cumbersome front-end and minimal, overlong loading screens hinder it, as do a series of other strange design choices.

Overall 8.5/10 GREAT !

this game is still going to turn out to be the best selling racing game. like they always are!

and that reviewer was just nitpicking small things, nothing that is a turn off from the game. also it still remains the best looking racing simulator on the market. i have played all the PC racers and the closest one was grid in terms of visuals, but in terms of car accuracy GT5 takes it no problem.

whats the weather like? and is there any proper damage models?

cause f1 2010's set the bar pretty damn high weather wise its stunning lookin even in dx9
