Yep...another msn virus courtesy of my sister while I was out lol. At least she turned it off straight away! NOD32 didnt seem to block it - im guessing she got sent a .png link as she told me it spammed all her addys with it after and froze pc up. Its now slow as a whore and im hoping adaware, spybot and NOD32 in depth can get the git totally. Im getting loads of IE7 popups too :rolleyes:

If NOD32 aint blocking these things first off (it found it while booting up) then what is?

Frigging annoying when these viruses target the not so computer minded :nono: :(

Need to lock my pc down a bit more after my new hdds are setup with a fresh install. Thats right im currently not running a software firewall and my router is fubared and currently no real time anti spyware blocking (only able to find it after infection via free tools - spybot and adaware)
 
heres a tip,password your account and log off when you are away from comp for a long time:p

would be good to do from now on;)
 
ahh but i have to let her use it and i dont like the multi account crap...does hell to your file system

maybe a restricted account then? hmmmm dno how i would set that up

also any ideas on a agressive way of actually blocking spywar ein the first place? would be nice to see a better spyware detector on nod32 as they say they have implemented
 
This kinda Virus is self inflicted.

And not much can stop them.

AVG has some good stuff. Or Buy Adaware protection thingy! ;)

Zone Alarm I found sniffs messenger packages really well - sometimes too well if u just want to send a friend a legit doc or something.

I got EST on here and I have to be honest it doesnt feel good after having ZA on it.
 
Does ur sister just surf the net and use msn?

If so, i'd set her up with her own account, bung her in the guests group, and tighted up the filesystem so that she can't write files anywhere.
 
eeek sharing computers, not fun! I set my sisters computer with zone alarm. But she doesnt use it :| So, she ends up visiting all these sites that freak up her computer and me being nice, have to fix it :) Sucks though
 
Well ive got ths tool called online armor to hopefully block spyware before it infects me. My new hdds aint coming till monday so theres not much point in sorting it all out yet. Yes my sister literally uses messenger, youtube and bebo only lol so yea that sounds a good idea. Also homework so could i configure her to only be able to save documents in my documents kinda thing?

Im also considering buying the zonealarm pro package but its quite a lot.
