It's really really starting to annoy me around here.

I know i dont post alot but i read virtually all of the threads, i just dont have much constructive stuff to say!

Why is it that when new people come to the forum (which dont get me wrong, is a grreat thing) they really love to go to any random thread, and it being any age, and just posting some little pointless thing, "Nice"

"Looks Good"

I don't understand why people can't see that date, and see that the last post was made like 6 months ago!!!

Fair enough reading it, but you dont HAVE to post on everything you read.

Is it just some e-peen thing about post count?

It's just so amazingly boring looking at a awesome build log, thinking their may be an update (but there probably wouldnt be beacuse they havent been on the forum in 6 months) and its just someone say "Can't wait to see it"

Fair enough posting it whilst the timescale is still relevant, but not after so long!

*Rant machine off*

nice ........

But seriosly why does it bother you. Do u have ocd or some thing and like thing to be in order.

Let people do what they need to and tbh if ppl post in my old logs i dont mind. in fact i think it some times shows a mark of respect. and btw i do some just post "Nice well done" .. i love it and things like that as a way of expessing my thankfullness for showing me some thing new. If i have some thing creative to say i will add to it. but over all i think its a nice gesture some times.

Live and let live and after all you dont have to read what they say.

Move along now there is nothing to see here ;) ....

I don't mind it on my build logs as it can pop it up in unread posts for new people to see.

I've found some very old build logs from the very beginning of the site that way.

I am new to the forum and there is a TON of stuff here to see and I may not have been around for the build or mod, but will let someone know if I think its awesome if its some what recent. (obviously a post from 2005 is getting no comment.)

Posting on an old thread is 'OK' as long as it's a build log - saying well done there is fine for instance. Adding something constructive to an old thread is OK too. It's just stupid thread revivals that annoy me. Remember also, that people may simply have searched on Google, found the link, then signed up to comment.

I would have to agree with kempez, think of posting as actually talking to a friend, colleague etc. If a mate came up to you and said " look at what I've done" you wouldn't say nice and turn your back and walk away, that's rude. Be constructive, engage with the poster and make conversation that's what forums are for. Remember also this is not msn, one word posts are not considered polite.

That's true, most of the topics that are bumped are found using search or Google. For example is if someone has a problem with the operating system people tend to search before starting a new topic. I'm sure everyone would jump on them for not searching if they made a new topic.
