Graphics card choice clarification!

Hey guys, first of all here's the rig im running at the moment:

Intel 2500k @4.5ghz

6GB Ocz Reaper 1800mhz

Asus P8Z68 - V GEN3

XFX 6850 OC

Thermaltake Toughpower 600Watt

1TB Samsung Spinpoint Hardrive (Hate it!)

Just wanted to know if im making the right move for price to performance. Rather than change my card to Nvidia which ideally id like to do. I'm thinking of adding a second 6850 to the rig to boost graphic performance. As im starting a new small business im a little low on money so i think this will be the best option for me.

Some other opinions would be good. Thanks for reading

I asume he filled up 3 of his 4 ram slots with 2GB sticks. Not optimal but it should work.

@ rigmaster: the advantage of adding a second 6850 is that the old card is still in use while when you are upgrading to another single gpu you would have to pay the price of your current gpu and add the price for the additional performance. so the ratio of performance gain to costs would be better when you add another card.

the power efficiency would be better with a single gpu.

In addition I don't think there is much room for gpu overclocking if you stay with your psu.

Speaking about the psu you should think about "Capacitor Aging" aswell, because your psu looses some of its power over long term use.

Hey guys thanks for the reply, yes have been a little worried about psu and would think about upgrading. Just wondering what the problem was with adding 3 sticks of ram? Haven't done allot of reading on this but have got 16gb ram g-skill lying around too, was just seeing the difference in mhz, as my g-skill stuff is 1333mhz. Worth it going back to the g-skill? (Got given ocz ram from a friend!)

You would be better off just using the 2 than 3. The memory will be used in dual channel as opposed to single channel. Check with your mobo manual as to which slots it uses for dual.

Hmm which kit is it ? Likewise, what is the name code of the OCZ ?

16g in quantity you'll never use for gaming. 99.99% of games are in 32bit, which means they can't address more than 4g. Arguably todays nice level is 8g, so you have up to 4g for your gaming, and 4g for Windows to play with - cat in hells chance of anywhere near that all be used tho.
