GPU prices are starting to decrease!

you know iv given up hope until i see a GPU at a price were i will say .. dam yer bout time and buy it then and there im not holding my breath

Didn't the 1080 get an MSRP cut on the release of the 1080ti? I'm sure most 1080's were dropped to like £550?

"While the price of the ASUS GTX 1080 Strix may now be the same at its launch day pricing, remember that Nvidia reduced its MSRP by $100 in March 2017, which means that pricing remains above its modern MSRP. "

Yeah, it got a price reduction before the release of the GTX 1080 Ti.

I won't consider it being normal until I can find 580 8GB and 1060 6GB cards for under $300. But still a decrease is a decrease. It's kinda funny though. I just helped 2 people build new PCs in the last 2 months... I'm sure they won't be pleased :D

There's inventory at Newegg and Amazon at least here in the US. 1080's are near $600 for the first time in several months.

Yes Volta is coming out soon but it'll be probably 6 more months before the mainstream cards get replaced. The first Volta cars will likely be a 1080 replacement like they usually do and it'll be a while before you can get a Volta equivalent of the 1060 or 1070.

Not sure why you guys keep saying they aren't making new cards. They are.

A few drops here and there are but nothing serious, more like emptying the warehouses. Even on the official site the stock is 0 and the preorder button is gone (up to yesterday anyway). My country, basically 0 inventory, no arrival dates known. They're EOL, even according to the vendors.

Just out of curiosity I checked online vendors here; still no stock (10+ days = no idea here) and still priced at 1000 euro and upwards. Makes sense, we're too small a land to notice immediate effects.
