gpu issues

ok so I have done a few tests when I am running wow and have youtube open I have that error come up a few times the amd driver has stopped working and has recoverd when I open boarderlands 2 and have you tube open in the background I got the error like once

hey guys just another quick question if I may I had an issue before where the gpu's bran up the amd driver has stopped working an recoverd that has been fixed now the issue is when I first boot up my pc I can run heaven benchmark and the audio and visual is very intermittent and as soon as I restart the pc and run it again its perfect no issues at all does it sound like a hard ware or a software issue thank guys :)

Honestly it seems like its just a bad overclock, but like other posters have said there are just too many things that could be wrong and unfortunately without the card with me I cannot do a complete diagnosis regardless.

Have you tried everything that has been suggested by the other posters?

Well the easiest thing to do now is run the card at stock clocks and see how it does. If problems go away than just a bad OC.

If problems persist then try out different drivers.

"Display driver stopped responding and was recovered"
It sounds all too familiar to an overclocker
unstable clocks (that includes unstable overclocks)

If its not that then bad drivers, weak psu, dying VRM's on the graphic card, GPU that can't handle idle clocks at idle voltage or a short somewhere causing dip on the +12v rail

I used to get this when I had bad airflow in my case. The drivers had overdrive turned on. As soon as I turned off over drive my drivers no longer gave me problems.

And this was at stock clocks. I guess my nasty ass case would get too toasty.

try going into CCC go to graphics overdrive and set the power limit to +10% I had to do this when I had 2 cards in crossfire I also do it now to compensate for my overclocked HD7970 Matrix Platinum hope this helps

EDIT: I think you will find it is a crossfire bug when I run wow with a single card it doesnt happen but when I used to run wow and go to youtube in crossfire the display driver done the same and its very frustrating :(
