Got my Pelt installed :D

Yes I do, the next up is around 437watts (sucks around 600 or so if I remember correctly), I've actually used one. The problem is your going to need a hell of a dedicated water loop as well as a 62mm block (aka custom)

I've seen a couple of manufactured blocks on the market with 427w pelts - only problem is that it's impossible to get them in the UK. One is called the Dominator Pro and the other is made by Wintsch labs (or sommit like that). Can you guys get them in the USA?

EDIT: Also mate, do you have any guides on modding PSU's into parallel config? I want to run two of these FSP's side by side.

The Dominator Pro is what I used to have, (actually hte first one ever made, and then reviewed). It was made by Wintsch Labs. The newer Web or something is just rev2.

Running psu's in parallel isn't a good idea actually due to power being consumed unevenly and destryoing one then the other. In that case you'd want to buy a 600-24 meanwell. FSP? Is that a ATX psu? Definitly don't continue to use one to power your peltier, much less two.

Its a graphics card PSU mate - single +12v rail rated at 25a - no other rails. Sits at rock solid 12.00v under 100% load.

O still parallel won't work as you'd like. So its one of those though, I remember seeing those on XS news and thinking pelt action. If your aiming to run a bigger pelt, it'll be series for those psu's and probably will require some definite modding on your part. BTW, how are you adjusting the voltage to tune the peltier?

O, if you want to get better temps you want to be able to tune your votlages.

As for series, you need to run the 12v of one into the grounding system of the other, but they need to remain electrically seperate (the grounds need to be)

I take it we are talking upwardly adjustable? So not as simple as just sticking an adjustable pot on one of the wires going to the pelt...?

Wirelessly posted (LG Fusic: Opera/8.01 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/2.0.4719/1378; en; U; ssr))

:D

qft! did u do any insulation around the socket or just grease it a bit?

NoL - is there something u can put between the 2 psus and what-ever-u-want-to-power to equalize the power demand ? (if so how big an item is it?)

(or is that what the meanwell does ?)

I honestly do not know of anything other than having the systems power one large switching powersupply. Sorta a merge? In series though you just need to replace the ground with the other 12v from the othe rPSU and keep them electrically separate. Still a lot harder than buying a psu to provide. But those little PSU's do look nice.

The meanwell 600-24 provides 600watts at 24volts ;) (thus the name)

As for getting better temps, by lowering the voltage the efficiency is increased, and as long as the movement wattage is still enough to move your heatload it will work quite a bit better at load. Thus with a huge TEC you can tune more :)

We want pictures! :P

Hows the 300w PSU fairing?

Coming soon. I've just been soooo busy that it's hard to find the time to take the PC apart and cart it into the kitchen for photo's :(

PSU is running fine. Not pumping out much heat either.
