After a day of utter headwork, an msi k8n neo2 a winnie 3200+ with issues. I decided to switch to the crappy clocking 3000+ 0519 DPIW venice i had to get it on.

#1 I am soooo happy with this unit and setup its a lot better than i thought it would be, big thanks to phil + his crew

#2 my problem, i got this 3200 winnie here .. with a fiddle it will boot up if its around -30 - 35 (evap display) but only for a shot period of time, when it gets around -45 and further it knocks off or hard locks.

The unit is fine the mobo is fine etc i know its the cpu for sure but that worked fine on air too?

ive heard of this, tell me is it just wincheters in general or certain ones? cos if i gave the complete stepping would it be of any help. anyways i hit 3ghz with my ****ty venice not bad for £78 ey haha holding 2.8 stable

Theres no paticular stepping that has the cold bug its the luck of the draw!!!

You could try giving it more volts to stop it occuring!

It isnt every winnie, some seem to be immune and can run under phase change, but the vast majority have it so i wouldnt bother trying to fiddle with it as i doubt you will get anywhere, it kicks in about -10C or even higher with most winnies so you will need crazy volts to get it hot enough.

I would be damn happy with a 3000+ @ 3GHz anyway
