Good Case to Cool SLI MSI 570GTX Twin Frozr II

Here's the setup:

i7-930 with a NH-D14

ASUS Sabertooth x58

12GB Corsair 1600

SLI MSI 570GTX Twin Frozr II

Crucial C300 128GB (OS)

WD Velociraptor 600GB (Games/other Programs)

Samsung F3 Spinpoint 1TB (storage)

Corsair HX1000

I not sure what case would be a cool, yet quiet. I was looking at the Raven RV02W-EW but its near impossible to find it (in the US)...

And after looking around, I realized the Fortress FT02B-W is just about the same thing...But then again both of the cases recommend rear exhausting GPU.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Jordan

I wouldn't worry about the GPU cooling designs in Silverstone 90° rotated cases except for closed body, central mounted fan, dual GPU cards (ie. HD6990, GTX590); in those cases with those cards, the bottom/front GPU heatsink air would have to fight the oncoming air from the Silverstones' intake.

If the graphics card is open body like your Twin Frozr, it'll just exhaust into the case's airflow to taken care of.

I'd go for the Phantom mate, I personally like the Coolermaster Cosmos cases (especially the Pure Black ed) as well.

I would say HAF X, but I ditched mine, mainly because the back plate cut out is too small, and the interior motherboard screw mounts were god awful and threaded using little effort, making it a major chore to take the motherboard out, all cause by not having enough access to get at my H70 back plate.

Fractal's cases look lovely, i would check them out. Esp the arc midi, i think TTL put up a review of it.

I have a white fractal R3 at the moment. But my fear is when I get another GTX570 that the case will struggle with the add heat being blown into the case. At the moment I have two noctua 120 in the front (intake), one on the top (exhaust), one in the rear (exhaust), and a 140 on the side (exhaust). All the fans are setup using the L.N.A. (which make this thing dead quiet, the only thing you hear is the WD raptor and the GPU when the fan is above 50%)

I was looking at the phantom...only problem is I have a dog, so dust and hair are my enemies. also the HAF isn't my cup of tea

The only other thing is phantom 200mm side fan vs. NH-D14 because I have to raise the intake fan to clear my dimms.

I was worried about the r3's temps too when i was looking at buying it, i ended up going with another case that had a decent sized front intake. Like i said though i'd take a look at fractals new arc midi tower, it seems like it has more cooling options than the r3. As far as dust filtering goes i'm not sure what your best option would be.

I do get good temps with the fractal, GPU 36C/65C and CPU 39C/~62C (near silent setup). But considering space...I have a feeling there not enough space to get good air flow with SLI.

If I wasn't thinking of SLI, hands down Fractal R3 is a amazing case.

I think those temps are really good. I have a phantom and the noise leakage is quite noticeable, for all its mesh the airflow aint that great tbh.

Nice temps, I would say give the SLI a go and if your temps get alot worse then maybe invest in a different case. Who knows, they may end up being great with the R3.
