Hi harmonicgen007

You can't rep me but I'll be glad to assist. This is the router I use at home, it has everything and more than I need, its actually designed for soho application. I paid AUS$114 for mine but they are cheaper now. Btw what is your internet connection- ADSL, Cable, Wireless or dial-up? Because you will need a router that is compatable!!!

Here is the link to mine anyway, I have a cable connection and am running a small LAN with 2 compy's. I won't bother going into detail of NAT, VPN etc unless you want me to , the website is pretty self explanatory. Billion are also making some cool routers, so check 'em out

Lemme know if you want any info on the terminology used, or any other questions period.

Oooooh, i hate NetGear with a passion, their products are so flimsy. I bought a 802.11g pci card from em (which turned out it was doa) and it was so cheap and gay that I took it back to buy another Linksys card. I wanted to take the less expensive route but that's what happens when you do, you get shafted! Is it just me or does Linksys not care about packaging? They use non-corrogated cardboard boxes that are flimsy as fuck, I can't stand that! lol

^^^ Check into that... Cable/DSL Router w/ 4-port Switch, I used to use one just like that before I went to WiFi and it was the shit.

Thats a valid point and your opinion. I have read some horror stories about linksys as well. I wasn't saying buy the router I linked to, I was suggesting that I have had no trouble with it and that it is serving me well. Imho it isn't flimsy.

I'm almost totally sure that they probably aren't the "Big Dogs" but what do I give a shit as long as it does what I want it to do....and does it well?

I think it can have up to 4 wireless connections and up to 4 wired connections....not bad for the £60 i payed for it!! :D :bootyshak
