God of War PC Review and Optimisation Guide

I would say Horizon Zero Dawn was better on AMD hardware. It ran at 1440p (native) 40 fps (original settings) or stable 30 fps (high settings) on a RX 480, DX12, open-world and better looking game overall.

I havent played this yet, but holy moly, I will admit the HDR on this was mind blowing. Had to look away when rowing on the river as the light reflected off the ripples in the water.

And it is so smooth at almost max detail. Why cant all ports be like this!

Shame, and VERY annoying the game doesn't automatically enable HDR when launching, if it detects an HDR monitor.

Its a right PIA to have to enable it manually then turn it off when back in Windows.

I can't leave HDR enabled in Windows all the time because its still looks horrible and is incompatible with some other stuff I use.

If Watchdogs Legion can do this quality of life feature, there's no excuse why this game can't.

I dunno, I found auto HDR in Win 11 actually a decent feature. I have yet to see any washed out colours in games or even apps/windows itself.

I'd like to buy it and get all the trophies again like I did on PS4. But no HDR and only a 1080 doesn't make me feel like it's worth it. Especially since it's a TN 1440p monitor I'm using. It won't look as good as my 4k tv and my 1080 CANNOT handle that :D

I bought GTAV, FF15, and a few others on PC after getting them on console, purely for the graphics improvements. I would say if you cant enjoy them properly on PC, then its not much worth getting it?
