to keep the rite sorta clients mayb - eg every 1 + their dog has a hotmail account but those who activley use the net (like peeps who visit forums) have widespread access to em and so they dont haffa allocate the 1gb of space for time wasters (peeps who will never use the account)

Google doesn't allocate 1gb / account rather only lets you have that much as needed (which really isnt the truth, lots of people have exceeded there 1gb quota). So the people that don't use there accounts aren't "wasting" 1gb of allocated account space, google is smarter than that

No need to create another account, gmail actually lets you use more than your 1gb quota.
